Looks count but aren't everything, after looks you need other stuff, looks will however get you laid even if you're a dick, they will even get you relationships even if you're a dick, you can be a dick and ugly and still get women provided you're strong/confident. There are a huge variety of different types of girls out there who will accept various things, there are a number of girls who will ONLY go for looks, there are a number of girls who won't go for a muscly person at all.

Be whoever you are but consider changes in order to get the demographic of people you want to be able to get, if that means the demographic that only go for a ripped body then you're going to have to get ripped, there's no way around that at all.

Everyone else though, is it necessary? No. Will it help in some cases? Yes. Will it make it harder in some others? Yes.

The argument has never been that looks don't matter, just that things are considerably more complicated. It all depends on who you want.

Simply be whoever you are and you will attract those that are most attracted to you in particular, throw confidence and understanding of how everything works into that and you'll make things much smoother.

So, in brief, do looks matter? Yes. No. Maybe.

Fit healthy men with shit personalities can pull. I've also seen that.

Which can pull more? Well I guess it depends on the girl.. As has been mentioned in this forum, it then becomes just a numbers game I guess.

I've never had trouble pulling women because of my looks. I'm not the best looking, but I do get female attention. I have noticed I get lots more attention when I'm feeling good about my looks. I think my friendly, outgoing nature has helped me previously, because I've not got an uber fit body, nor have I ever shown one off. An interesting point is, I was quite shy as well, I wouldn't approach girls, I'd always meet friends of friends and call/text/IM but hey, it got me laid enough.

Now I settled down with a girlfriend, and I'm making changes to my looks, for my own reasons, because of what Legend said in his other post about where his gut stuck out beyond his chest. Thats the point where I say, FUCK IT, I'm sick of this and am going to do something about it.

hahaha this is brilliant how long this has gone on for. Phil, I guess we see things differently on this I agree with the general point being made though: its a lot more complicated than being hot or feeling hot - the variety of girls and their reasons prove that.
Oh and if money's being forked out, would you mind tossing some this way too? I'll agree with everything you say if you give me 5 quid. That's what money's there for, right? The leveler when opinions differ..
