I can't help but think you're making this into a bigger issue than it needs to be.

If you're chatting to someone you like and/or share some interests with why not drop in the conversation, that you two could meet up another time. Or just say you find them attractive and you want to see them again and go for their number. Then stay in the conversation, don't just fuck off back to your friends. If she won't give you her number initially, go for it later in the conversation.

I'd only bother going for a number if I felt there was some connection and I really wanted too. Remember what you feel they tend to feel too.

Oh yea and don't drink 10 pints, why not stop at 2 and ask for soda water and blackcurrent after the beer. Be different from other guys.

Is someone more homosexual if they drink less than 10 pints of beer and a soft drink. How does that homosexual / beer calculation work? Does being further up north change things?

When I drink, I do it because it helps me lose my inhibitions but it's a balancing act between feeling intoxicated. I'll generally stop drinking as soon as I feel less inhibited and too intoxicated. For me that's usually after 2/3 pints. Exception to every rule though of course. Perhaps I'll will start considering my sexuality in that balancing act too, 3 beers and 1 blackcurrant soda = 60% uphill gardener.

The feelings of discomfort will reduce as you do it more often...progressive desensitization. But it sounds like you did okay considering you've not done many nights out. And it was a work thing which can always be a bit odd at the best of times.

I can handle my drink better than most, but I do also pace myself. I have 1 pint of water to every 2 pints alcohol. For my 18th birthday I had a £54 pint, top row topped up with guiness and after that I never really get drunk at all and never have a hangover.


Mark, how would you describe feeling intoxicated? I still function fine, it helped me to loosen up, I was dancing and feeling the arse of the Clothing deparements young manager who I was working for today but I went home completely sober. Everyone had a hangover except me.

I've found 2-3 pints is about right for me to get approaching and hit state. Everyone is affected differently by booze so you have to find what suits your biology.

6 pints and I feel loosened up but at the same it was a party setting for the first 6 hours and I didn't like that. I much prefered the club scene afterwards, hands on, eye contact, having a laugh.

I was focusing too much on 1 girl in the club, that then fucked me over big style. I could have kissed at least 2 girls, deffinitely gone home with 1 girl. I think I was annoyed with myself because at the end of the night I could see how many chances I'd thrown away.

I could adapt to love the club scene.

First night out for a long time. I feel that if it was a club scene all the time then I wouldn't of had as many; same goes for if the alcohol wasn't free during the meal.


Just that 1 night I've seen so many things, from a pick up point of view, that I can improve on. I was very harsh on myself in the first post. I went around talking to everybody for the first 5 hours, under the ASSUMPTION that I can't dance but when we eventually moved to the club I got to the dancefloor and ended up surprising myself. I could have kissed at least 3 girls, a few of my successful approaches were purely physical and eye fucking; no talking.

I need to focus more on the close and I need to be more decisive and follow through to the close. Close meaning kiss or fuck... thing is I could aim for them 2 options and then still, if I wanted to, I could get her number.

I've started a christmas hat competition at work by wearing the various christmas hats I have during my shift. I have 5 people involved so far and some have made their own hats; everyone fucking loves it and love me too.

Got talking to a few of the lads and informed them of their antics during Sunday night, which was fucking hilarious. Then I told them about the girl in the blue top and, since I have a random bit of paper with a number on it, I think it was from her. Had a good laugh with the lads then walked to the till.

Started to unload my stuff for the self service till and Amy was hovering around me, clearly trying to get my attention, without speaking of course; that would be too easy. I started and had a long, in depth conversation about a few things, she was really probing with her questions. I think by giving her a plastic ring a few days ago, its made her even more intregued. Also, another girl at work likes me and Amy saw that today, I'm sure. From some of her questions, it was obvious that she'd been talking about me to someone else. She told me that she bit the packet and accidently squirted some of the juices from her lunch on her works jacket, then showed me and she was right; it looked a fucking mess. She asked me if I wanted the job full time; if I drive; about my travelling; how long I want to go away for. I was pritty busy aswell so there was a few times where I went to walk away but then she'd have more input.
I asked her about her hours work tomorrow and she's off work but followed by telling me the rest of her hours for this week. She also told me a cheap taxi service to get to work on Saturday for 5am.

Still didn't ask for her number/facebook or whatever. During the conversation, it didn't even cross my mind. I'm gonna ask her out for a coffee, that's the first thing I'll do next time I see her.
