I bumped into her last night when I was out and we talked. She looked heartbroken, it was fucking gutting.

It's a quandary man. You're exactly right that if you get someone to seriously emotionally invest in you and then it all ends then there's bound to be a feeling of resentment.

I've unfortunately been there myself and found that the only way to allow you both to move on is total separation. With my LTR's that went southward in the past we simply had to get out of each others lives for a while. No texting, deletion from facebook, everything; until we were over the pain, which has taken as long as a couple of years, at which point we can reconnect (if we want to) without the bitterness.

Apparently, she was just shit-testing me to the maximum after our last break-up. Not cool though, it gets seriously annoying.

After I ignored her a couple of times she was ready to come running to me, but by then it was too late, I'd already fucked another bird and she knows about it.

She did take the game playing too far though you're right about that. She pushed me in the wrong direction. She accepts this. I told her I'm not going to apologise for what I did as I considered myself single.

Time to call it a day I guess.
