My real reply is this.

Being drunk in a club is completely normal, its the point of a club. So the real question is why be sober?

I used to think you had to be sober because its what all the pua books said but now I've realised they are gay.

Alcohol is one of the oldest drinks in human history, if not the oldest (behind water, milk and maybe a few juices).

Haha, yeah I was plastered don't remember how I get home, quite surprised they let me in, probably wouldn't have been allowed had I not already paid, great night though!

I understand where your coming from on the sober front, it probably is better to get to a point where your comfortable with yourself without the requirement of alcohol. But its quite acceptable to have a few drinks (I may have gone a bit overboard!), and often I think it's a bit strange not to, since to be great sober would be awesome inebriated.

And since at the end of the day, your going out first and foremost to enjoy yourself, going out with the pure intention of 'sarging' just feels unnatural.

I find your argument Non sequitur. I wouldn't say being drunk in a club as 'the point'. The point is surely entertainment, to enjoy yourself, whether intoxicated or not, if the point was for everybody to get shit-faced then you wouldn't be able to buy non-alcoholic drinks.

If you think you have to be sober because you read it in a PUA book then you were taking them too literally, quite rightly you've come to the conclusion they tend to be nonsense (not gay, that has homophobic connotations).

Why be sober?

- Because if you can do this sober then you are king. You clearly have balls out confidence that probably penetrates deep to your core, not just a surface veneer. This is solid inner game which is probably 90% of this.

- Your mind stays sharper, you can react to banter/shit-tests/AMOG dickheads a lot quicker.

- A lot of girls would prefer to be hit on and flirt with a guy who is compos mentis rather than a guy who's slurring his words, eyes rolling around and swaying from side to side.

- Sinister as it sounds you can take advantage of your more lucid state when conversing/dancing with a girl who is intoxicated.

- After fat (9 calories to 1g) Alcohol (7 calories to 1g) is the next worst thing to consume given you are consuming a lot of extra calories without gaining any nutritional value from it.

- There are no hangovers the following day, you can function normally as soon as you awake therefore not wasting hours curled up in bed in the foetal position.

Why be drunk?

Don't get me wrong there is a case for enjoying yourself whilst out getting pissed up, I have done this a lot, some of my best nights out have been in this state with all my mates, I have pulled whilst shit-faced (most people do) but i've felt I've not savored it/appreciated it as much because recollections are clouded. I feel also that my full personality, certainly the most positive aspects have not shone through when drunk because that personality in that moment has been fuelled by 'liquid confidence.'

There are guys who's game is solid when they are drunk, many of them on this forum. That works for them and it works for them greatly and good luck to them.

I agree going out with the mindset of 'sarging/gaming' is not helpful but instead you should enjoy the moment for what it is, to it's fullest potential. You now know this, this is good.

Please don't feel I am attacking you personally, I am not. I enjoy reading your field reports/progress. I think you have good potential particularly with the group of guys you have around you for support/advice.

I get the impression that you feel uncomfortable being sober talking to girls. Hence, you justify the significance of alcohol socially.

What book is that then?

As for last night. I had fun with you guys. I particularly enjoyed swooping in and winging other guys in set, i.e. to distract the friend. I don't feel that favour was returned though...

We're on about a night club not a Daisy's tea party. So lets leave the sober/drunk debate as no one's views are going to change and anybody reading can easily make their own conclusion about it.

Don't be a twat, it was a genuine question. Do you mean you asked someone and they wouldn't or no one stepped in when you were talking to girls? Or they weren't very good or too good and took over?

Should I have to ask? You see a mate in set and the girl's friend is there stood there on their own ready to drag her away. For me, the natural reaction is to go and help out.

I didn't see it. I saw you and Jaz talking for ages then I saw you two talking to some girls. I was on the dance floor mainly. Everybody did have your back when you got started on so be thankful for that.
