Losing the irrational fear to approach, it's really nice, but remember, this fear is there for something. Mostly to help you avoid sticky situations, also jail.

From these commnents by Stein, Kowasaki and Catboy, it seems to me that without a "life" it is impossible to meet women at all.

My whole early adulthood and 20s I never had any kind of "life".

Then I saw approaching videos on YouTube and thought from them that the only reason I'd never met women was because I didn't approach them boldly in the street.

But according to you guys, all along it was because I didn't have a "life".

No matter what you do, without a "life" it is impossible to meet females, even if you put the leg work in.

Fair enough, I can see what you mean. I think our definition of "basic social skills" is different, however.

I would see basic social skills as knowing when to say please and thank you, knowing what to say in certain circumstances, like not talking about irrelevant stuff at a funeral.

Or in a day game sense, being friendly and not bringing up inappropriate topics like sex etc.

But you are saying basic social skills are more than that, which I didn't realise.

When to say please and thank you is almost the lowest level imaginable.

What is lower than that? Not randomly invading people's personal space? Only full on retards or heavily drunk/drugged peeps do that. Anything else so low will be equally as insane.

Very young children 'know' when to say please and thank you.
