Good work as ever Adam. May I make a suggestion, personally I don't like to add girls to my facebook, or at least i'm not too quick to add them to my facebook and would prefer them to get to know me through me rather than my facebook page. Sometimes in the past girls have added me to facebook and then I never hear from them again, and I've added girls to facebook and not really liked what i've seen/read on their profile and then been turned off by them.

Girls like to use facebook as a screening process from which to judge and size-up a guy who is interested in them and base a decision accordingly. You could have been the man when you met her and there could have been a real strong emotion and attraction there between you on the night. Away from that context when she's alone (or with friends even) perusing over your facebook profile and flicking through your pictures she may come across things that she doesn't like, however small such as she doesn't like your taste in music, she sees an unflattering photo of you she doesnt like, she doesn't like the look of the friends you hang out with etc etc. A whole plethora of things on your profile could sway a girls opinion of you, and yes it does sound ridiculous!

Therefore I prefer a girl to make her judgements and decisions about me through spending actual time with me. Not by giving her instant access to my world through facebook where she can then freely make assumptions and judgements about me without actually getting to know me.

I am seeing this girl at the moment and she wants me to add her to facebook, right now I don't want to as currently I don't give a shit about reading what films she likes and seeing pictures of her on drunken nights out. I prefer to get to know her as a person and make more clear judgements about her by spending time with her.

Keep doing what you're doing, keep up the phone and text game and use that as the tool to get them out spending time with you. Whilst facebook has it's benefits it can be a social minefield.

Good point, size does matter

I'm sure girls will filter out any poor photos or bad taste in music if attraction is already established. Things like this are also probably far less important to a girl.

I also agree with Hustler to a degree - as a rule I am not interested in adding girls on Facebook. However this is not because I want to hide any compromising pictures or my interests, I am not ashamed of who I am and what they will eventually get to know anyway.

It's more that I would like the intrigue to continue as long as possible. The mystery of getting to know someone is exciting for both parties. It should take it's natural course without 'leaked documents' ruining this. The fun part is getting to know strangers.

Yeah I agree entirely with that Nova, that was mainly the point I was driving at, it's much more exciting to keep that element of mystery and intrigue at the begining of a relationship rather than to bare all too soon. I wasn't suggesting anyone be ashamed of compromising pictures or material on your facebook, on the contrary I'm all for being unashamed however some girls (often the most shallow) may take a second view of you if the life you reveal on your facebook does not live up to their 'ideal'.

The debate about whether to accept a Facebook invite from a girl you have recently met is a tricky one - the fact is, women like nothing more than to be nosy, and giving them the opportunity to sift through your entire facebook is a dream for them. They'll also be going through your info with their mates, who will be just as keen to check you out. Plus, you aren't gonna be there to defend yourself when the girl or her mates see something they aren't keen on (an ex girlfriend, a crude comment you have made on a mates Wall, pics of you looking like a tool etc)

However, your profile/pics/likes and dislikes could swing it in your favour- they might see you as a great guy, who appears to be sociable, has a variety of tastes, and looks fun to be with. Which can only increase your chances of seeing them again.

But for me, the next time I get a facebook invite from a girl I have recently met, I'm gonna tell them that I'll add them after I've got to know them better- that way, I get to qualify them first, and get them in the routine of phone and text game in between seeing them.
