u know on this subject... im a good looking guy so sometimes i think my advice is flawed in the i have a fucking big advantage... this is not me blowin my own trumpet btw.. im not bradd pitt but i do get told it alot!!

so perhaps i get away with my hard faced attitude because i can.... carmarda u just made me wonder if my ability is helped massively by my looks.. and how would i fare where i ugly???... and do negs work for me because they are not insulted by them as they see me as equal??

Can I just say summat. The whole thing about neg's being immoral and super manipulative is always blown way out of proportion on here for some reason. I agree somewhat that to purposely make a girl feel conscious about herself/looks so that she feels she has to validate herself to you so you can gety laid, is a bit distasteful, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking the piss out of people for a laugh, whether it be a woman or a man. Women to it all the time, so why is it so morally incorrect for us to do it. People take the piss out of each other, and some times it can be pretty harsh, but it's just a part of our culture. We have a dry sense of humour in this part of the world, and this comes across all the time, even when your flurting.
Kowalski, its ok telling us that negging is bad but teasing when flirting is ok, but to be honest it's hard to decide where to draw the line. When you're flirting with a girl, whether you like it or not, you are trying to get her into the sack, at some point in the not too distant future. Therefore anything you say to her could be considered as being manipulative in one way or another. That's the whole point in the chase. Women know what you want to do to them, unless you're gay of course, it's just a matter of showing them your interest and influencing them into being attracted to you through words and body language etc, is it not?

I think we're dealing with the whole Mystery Neg senario here and what it's purpose is. Of course there's nothing wrong with taking the piss for fun with your mates and teasing a girl in a fun way so that BOTH of you are enjoying yourself. It's the whole re-balancing of values where guys are told to 'get one over the girl' via negging that is completely ego bolsteringly orientated.

Have you not noticed though how girls do this a hell of a lot. For example, me and a guy i work with were chatting to a couple of girls at work the other night, and the one I was chatting to said "Why can't you be as good looking as your mate?" I can take a shit test or two no problem, but this really got to me and I completely lost my state. I could tell she felt bad after saying it, and I felt like saying the same thing to her, but i didn't bite and managed to turn myself around after a min or two. Could you imagine saying this to a girl, oooo it would not go down well at all, the situation would blow up really fast.

For me when girls say this kind of thing they are testing how I react. If I crumble and stutter then they're likely to lose attraction. I guess it's a matter of laughing it off or playing on it, but not being phased. Of course, easier said than done!

I might add, what girls aren't always right. They can be dicks too.

"Why can't you be as good looking as your mate?" Uncalled for and harsh. I'm not one for negs usually but in this scenario i'd give as good as got. SJ you are right, if this was the other way around all hell would have broken loose the girl would most likely take offence as would all her friends in the group. As men why should we stand their and take it? Some would argue be non-responsive, and in most cases I would agree but when people say something that you consider below the belt and unacceptable, call that shit out.

Don't let people think they can say what they like and get away with it. She's looking for a reaction, most likely a defensive reaction, instead match her with an equally offensive reaction.

I'd have gone for;

"Why can't you be as good looking as your mate?"

Response: 'Why can't you just shut your mouth and let your other lips do the talking?'

Said in a cool and composed manner.

Yeah, i knew this as she said it, but it didn't stop me from losing my state. I think it wasw mainly cos it was in front of my friend from work, who's not into pu, and my ego just took a good beating. A couple of years ago i would have said the same thing right back to her, or worse.
