I read posts on this site and it nearly always seems to be about QUANTITY rather than QUALITY. I have to say that I just do not understand this 'quantity' mentality.

Myself, I tell you that I do really really badly, I suppose you could say, really badly, but that is because i am interested in quality, ie women who i really really really fancy, and anything less than 'spot on' I don't bother with.

Now don't get me wrong, I do get many offers. People think i am joking about this, but i am not. If I go for a walk by the river I get back to my car and there is a little sweet card on it saying give me a ring, email me, I saw you by the river this morning and we said hello. I go to a frozen food shop and the woman on the till is just beaming at me, and this happens all the time. Even knickers posted through my door with perfume on and a phone number. But as i have said before i am goodlooking, tall and fit...which you have to be when single. I am pleasant, amiable, affable, interesting, fun, not weird, and other such nothing-special-attributes.

Get yourself right and it all takes care of itself if quantity is what you are after.

The trouble is that I don't fancy any of these, though others would say they are very attractive, but not to me.

I have to approach women who don't show interest in me, so i get blown out all the time, almost.

I'm not sure 'gaming' works unless you are not fussy. But if you are fussy then gaming doesn't really work, I feel, they either fancy you or they don't (fancy the idea of you being intimate with them).

Are people like me, or are they just after quantity?

Sounds like you need to get laid.

It is just that, as a middle-aged bloke, over time I have become what you might call sophisticated in my taste.

It is a bit like when you hear of cross dressers or gay guys, etc, saying, 'Well, I suppose i always kinda knew but it took a long time for me to see it for what it was, that this is what I am and like'.

I am like this, too, but with me it is that I have come to see, to realise, that I go for a very specific type. They are rare, but they are definately out there, and I am soooo aware of these 'specifications' that I am tuned in like a radar alarm, can spot them immediately, that they ring my bell so spot on.

The trouble is that they are rare, say one in 500, and then factoring in the availability/possibility, well it is a sad state of affairs.

All-in-all, considering the problems etc, the pitfalls, the deal breakers, etc, I think we are looking at about 3000 to 1. Grim. I just don't know what the future will bode, but I am not even hopeful.

Factor in that I am as I say, a good-looking and fit bloke, and sound. But whilst that is a very big help, it is no help if there is nothing to be helped. Very sad.

It is like the French, who refined their pallate as regards wine. But the Germans did not refine their pallate. In consequence the French cannot find a good bottle of wine for love nor money, whereas the Germans can get a good bottle of wine anywhere, for any price.

Your pretty much fucked then, you should just give up now based on those odds.

Or maybe lower your standards considerably and give yourself a good shake. You need a reality check.

The fook do you want us to say? Pat you on the back for having high standards? I've heard this nonsense many times before from guys who never or rarely get laid. You're like a poor person who decides he'd rather starve because he has 'standards' with what he eats. You'll have to go without then.

Broadswords and nova, I don't think you understand, because if you did then you would not say lower your standards....or, maybe, perhaps, perhaps I have a problem, maybe, I'm open to that idea, it could be. But I think I don't have a problem. It is just I cannot see how you can go to bed with anyone who you don't fancy, unless you are doing it thinking of something or somebody else, which for me is nothing I'm interested in. As far as i'm concerned you have to fancy them.

But over time i have come to 'listen' to myself, to those litttle attractions that keep re-occuring, odd little things that I keep noticing. know these women which have these attributes are not what you might call classic attributes. It might just be a little overbite, or a small chin, or eyes which are curved at the upper half and flat at the lower half, or shoulders which are small and drooping, etc, etc.

It is really just a question that over time i have come to understand what i like.

It is not that I have high standards, it is just that these women are rare. For instance, I would be in my element living in the matchstick world of Lowrie. I like stick-thin women, but because of the obesity epidemic we currently have then there are hardly any stick-thin women about. This is the problem.

If you sit on a bench in a town and look at the women passing by, I would say that 99% are overweight to some degree, but over weight is overweight. If we were living back in war-time Britain with food rationing, etc, then I think the percentage of overweight women would be about 50%, and that would be good for me.

It is not me having high standards.

I don't eat like a glutten, i have to eat with moderation and calorie intake sense. So why can't other people. Then they (governments/media) try to change the ideology of people about what is fat or thin to accommodate the problem. Well, I don't think that will work, though it might if there are enough confused people who do not know their own mind. But this is the world we live in.

I am, I am annoyed that people have got fat. It affects my life.

So what do you like? Do you know exactly what you like, or do you just think, 'Oh it is a female, and that is all that matters?'.

None of the girls I approach show interest in me either. I get blown out a lot, but then I also get some dates and sometimes even sleep with a few. What's your point?
