Cute girl started at my workplace some time ago.

We had a convo at a work night out, as you do, getting to know each other.

This girl has the most amazing eyes. The next thing I know I'm totally smitten.

This made me start acting all weird around her at work and eventually avoiding her altogether. I sent the odd email but she didn't respond to the last one I sent.

It had all cooled off and I assumed she had just let me wither on the vine as I never asked her out (have known her since December last year).

But the other day, out of the blue, we had some email ping pong that had a good vibe to it. It made me think she is still interested. And maybe it helps I'm not acting weird anymore.

She seems to have a very busy social calendar.

Should I ask her out by email and if she doesn't respond at least I'll know with minimal awkwardness or just forget it?

Now i think of it, email would be wussing out to protect my ego. And she would know that. It's a main thing I'm trying to address at the moment. Thanks for keeping me straight.

I've chatted to her once since we had the email thing. It was okay but kinda subdued. There's usually people in earshot which doesn't help.

Thats not the attitude to have - you shouldnt be thinking about alcohol to soften a blow or her laughing in your face. You dont need booze - you should be thinking about how great it will be to talk to her, how great it will be to ask her out, and how good that you have the possibility of her saying yes. And how great it will be if she does say yes.

you're reading the situation well Broadsword. Why can't I just be honest with her. If she doesn't want it to go further she'll soon let me know. It will sting for a while but I'll get over it.

It's worse thinking what might have been but regretting never finding out.
