Most people are constantly thinking about their past and imagining their future. This is INSANE. I still do it a lot now and am booked up on a meditation course. Meditation helps you say present focus on your feelings and being, not over analysing the fuck out of everything.

I'm 34 and at a point in life where I know I have to take some serious action to meet women. I live in a crappy town and have been making excuses for years. I even stayed away from this board for a year and reading it makes me fearful because I know it's encouraging me to change. That's a GOOD thing though.

I am working the notice period on my comfortable perm IT job.
We're putting our house on the market.
I'll rent somewhere central in London.

I'll have no excuses left not to meet people and women, I might even not get a job for a few months - luckily I have savings and my life depends on this change / money & working is going to come second now.

You might realise by dropping your job it makes you less productive in general.

Well the reason for quitting wasn't just for women really. I've been there 2 years and probably been productive for 3 months in that time. I work in IT and am fairly specialised so I shouldn't have too much of a problem picking up a contract and working at least a couple of days a week at home.
