bjj seems good but my uncle did a bloke who did ju-jitsu with judo. the bloke didn't think it could be done.

I did Shotokan Karate for 2 years,
good points: can land some devastating blows because your whole body is locked so that all your power goes through your target
bad points: too rigid a form, no grappling

My instructor who had trained for over 40 years knew that if he didnt drop me before i got a hold of him he was fucked.

my experience of kungfu, wingchun etc is that its very flowy and fast but with unecessary movements and lacks power

my experience of BJJ - its the ultimate grappeling art which i can see why no other arts can deal with once you ahve got your opponent in close close range.
but against somthing like a boxer, youve got to be very careful getting onto them.

then youve got combinations MMA - BJJ, boxing, kick boxing etc

I don't know much about it, but it seems fairly obvious to me that all styles can strike from a distance, but the MMA type has the added benefit of being able to force the situation to the ground (which from what I see on TV seems to always happen) and beat the shit out of you more effectively than other styles while down there. Just what it looks like to me anyway.

They should have one "LIFE, even if you win..."
