grip strenght
my grips doin my head in. fair enuff, trying to do squats with dumbells is always going to be awkward but it effects other exercises too. what do you guys do to improve your grip? e.g exercise, accessories and what not.

Not tackled this yet, but a lot of people recommend wrap straps or whatever they're called

I got me on of these http://www.powerballs.com/works.php?m=Works
plus you can do other forearm exercises not specifically grip related and that will help too. also press ups on your fingers will strengthen your fingers a lot. |
EDIT:
fat gripz will take the strain off your wrist while building grip strength at the same time. the other thing you can do to strengthen the little muscles is an old boxers training drill for wrist strength: to scrunch up a broadsheet newspaper while sitting at a desk. Lay it open in front of you, float your hand to the middle of the page as if typing, and then scrunch up the page by keeping your hand in the middle and drawing the paper inwards scrunching up each page into a little ball. By the time you've done a few pages you'll feel it. PS |
Thoe fat grips look sick. Probably my best bet, especially looking at the desription. Im sceptical of the poweball for some reason, probably works tho. Ive tried wraps to but they just seem to move the weight from my palms and more onto my fingers.
well ill try a few of these out then. Sure ill get over it if i just persevere. thank dudes. |

if its somthing piddely small like 40KG or less dumbells then man the fuck up and train your forearms you should be able to keep grip. if you are using he-man dumbells then -- use wraps if they are sliding onto your fingers your not tightening the wraps tight enough I once snapped a pair of straps deadlifting 600llbs for 10, i used to end up with blood spots all over my wrists and hands where the blood was forced out my veins. |

do wrist curls too then you can use the dumbbells at the gym. my fore arms are pretty good cos of my work but I've been working them down the gym and it does look awesome if you've got a nice set of forearms. |
