To be honest, I'm annoyed I was such a little bitch yesterday - "I didn't flirt with her, she made me think she was taken, boo hoo". This is a girl who chatted me, a complete stranger, up on a train. Of course it's on.

Anyway, I'll see her again for Detonate next Friday and pull her then. Now I know where the goalposts are I can curl one in from 30 yards (see what I did with the football thing there?).

For a kick-off, let me state that Ozzy's (or whoever's) "you're shit now" text is inadvisable. Nobody says that shit in real life, something I've only realised about an hour too late.

Anyway, the full story. Claire has been proving a tough nut to crack. Fairly resistant to my style of poking fun and taking the piss, playing reasonably hard to get, and extremely difficult to read. She's also an immense chatterbox - even more than me. This is information gleaned from last week when we went for a cheeky one before band practice (Detonate didn't happen for one reason and another). She turned up looking gorgeous, having made a bit of an effort, and I guess we had a bit of a date. Held hands a bit (use it - you're welcome), had a good chat, then I dropped her off home and went to rock out.

But here's the thing. There was no spark. At no point did we have one of those moments where you're having a proper laugh and joke at each others' expense. I didn't really feel like, "man I really want to fuck this girl". These things are partially because she is so hard to flirt with (mostly because she talks so much), possibly because we don't know each other all that well. No worries, I figured, this is more about the long game. Besides, all it'll take is a bit of a boozy night and the rest will write itself. This one is worth a bit of time and effort.

Roll on to this weekend - I text her last night telling her I had a nice time in Hull, and does she want to hang out tomorrow (today)? In other words, for the first time I'm actually offering to come to Nottingham specially to see her. No guitar shopping, no band practice, only to spend my time with her. No reply. More annoyingly, there was no reply all day today, scuppering my other plans for the day (playing golf with a mate, something I hadn't done for a while).

And so we come full circle - the "you're shit now" text. I appreciate the sentiment, I really do, but using it verbatim, almost word-for-word, was a bit of a foolish move. I should've taken the sentiment and said it in my own words, something like "what's with not texting me back? Not cool". Maybe then I wouldn't have got a shitty reply from her, rather than some bullshit about not having her phone all day and being busy, with a grudging "sorry" tagged on the end.

It's annoying. On the one hand, it's unacceptable that she mess me around without apology (if there's one thing I can't stand, it's being messed around for an illegitimate reason. That and being late for things. These things are only forgivable if the person is genuinely sorry about it). On the other, I suppose I could have sent a less shitty message and not put her back up straight away. I'm not giving up on this one - she's worth a bit of extra effort, and besides I've got a couple of tricks up my sleeve.

Well, contrary to Sapphire's advice, I am in fact bitchslapping myself for being a twat this lunchtime. Firstly for even contemplating using a line/routine, let alone actually using one, even one from RSD (or especially, depending on how you view their teachings), secondly, for actually thinking using said routine would yield success with a strong, confident, relationship-worthy woman. Silly boy.

Anyway, the whole thing has ended with her saying she's not interested in a guy who calls her shit, and I can't say I blame her. Perhaps if she'd been the kind of girl with low self-esteem and high insecurities, it might have worked, but I wouldn't be looking for a relationship with her.

im dating a Dr at the moment, first time we talked on the phone and i realised she was a chatter box i told her to take a breath ebtween sentances, that she never shuts up and that somthing i learned about myself in the past was that people use talking, especially fast talking because they lack confidence and are afraid they will lose their audiances attention by talking slowly.
- these statments immediately allowed me to dominate all interactions with her as she constantly thinks im bored when she talkes a lot, so she shuts up.
- on our first date i was ultra direct with her and just told her mid sentance she was beautiful.

so my points are-- if you like a girl or you fancy fucking her, dont let her dominate the interaction, and in the essence of not wasting time with somone thats not really into you and getting into somone that is into you-- just be direct and show your intentions early on - that way if you dont get anywhere with her you can efficiently eject

That's just it - it's just not like me to send such a shitty message to anyone, least of all a girl I'm forging a relationship with. The only way I'd say something like that would be as a joke, and even then only if I was actually joking. It'd probably have a "" on the end, just to make sure the other person didn't take it the wrong way (you know what texting can be like).

With the benefit of hindsight, I was a dick. Had I been myself, I would've sent something like "So - too cool to text me back now eh?". That's far more my style - poking fun at her for being a numpty and ribbing her about it continuously.

That said though, I still feel a little hard done by. After all, a day or so after the shitty messages were exchanged, I sent her a text apologising for being a bit of a twat and explaining my actions, to which she replied "Sorry, I'm not interested in a guy who calls me shit". You've gotta love her for sticking to her principles, but...

Starting a new relationship can be so hard. Why oh why couldn't I stick to just shagging?

For what its worth, I don't think she was interested in the first place - she would have spent the day after meeting you watching her phone praying for a call/text. With the "shit" text you just gave a her a convenient out to use (IMO).
