Out with a mate in Fab last night, started chatting to these two girls next to us, one of them was quite abrasive, my mate did a good job of keeping her occupied whilst I was talking to the other. After a while we go to dance, and I start getting a bit closer but she's reluctant, I ask what's wrong and she responds with "its just that you're a bit young", she was 29, bang.

In fairness, I probably wasn't dressed the part, short sleeved tshirt and jeans, might have worked with students, but not with that crowd. Not really much to report here but its a start, I need to continue on with my progress. Might need to hit up a few student venues, students are quite easy to interact with and it can help build confidence.

I used to get that a lot because I looked younger than I was. Used to piss me off. Now they never say that as I'm usually at least twice their age.

Yeah it gets pretty frustrating, but I guess I can't do much about it, I just have to address my style, dress appropriately and maybe stop going for girls older than me lol.

This last month has been pretty tough, without wanting to sound like a faggot, I've noticed a distinct lack of confidence and ability as well as feeling pretty insecure and generally shite. I've stuck by my convictions though and I'm still single (that's not to say me any my ex haven't occasionally fucked, but that's something I need to put a stop to).

I'm going through the process of sorting my shit out, I'm getting into trying out a few new styles, buying some new clothes and trashing my old ones. I'm still hitting the gym, morning exercise, running and Jeet Kune Do, which frankly is the only thing keeping me sane right now.

I'm currently texting a girl I met last week, and another few conversations on Tinder, nothing spectacular but I'm just trying to get used to social interaction again without acting like an obviously insecure fucktard. Self deprecation has been a nasty habit that I seem to have picked up recently, and it shows blatantly in my actions its screams inadequacy and it puts people off.

I've started to identify a few things in my own appearance, which are letting me down. Not just how I dress, but demeanour, attitude and general speech and I've begun working on these. It might take me some time, but I'm going to get myself back into this shiznit.

Also I start the first of my 10k runs this weekend, it generally kicks me into fitness mode and results in a pretty natural buzz that tends to keep me uplifted, active and happy. Also it raises a bit of money for charity so that's always a plus.

I was chatting to a friend recently, and she was suggesting reading into shit like astrology despite my cynicism and skeptical attitude towards it, since it gives a playful topic of conversation whilst approaching. Personally I find this crap, and I'd rather talk about some mutually interesting topics rather than something that's going to immediately grant contempt towards the person I'm talking to. I don't want a cheap shag, I want connection, then a shag.

What are they specifically? People can then help.

Hot topics I would guess, I say astrology since that's what I remember we were discussing, but the point was made as this would be an issue of easy conversation with a girl. I may just be kidding myself that I'm going to meet an astrophysicist in a local pub or club but at the same time I don't want to be discussing celebrities or what happened on the last episode of TOWIE...

This is cool. If you're not already comfortable displaying this side of your interests with people/girls, then get practicing talking about whatever it is that gets those juices flowing. It's all part of self amusement, and I've found girls get pretty turned on when I get all geeky on them.
