I've not mentioned this earlier as I wanted to make sure it was the case, but on Saturday me and the my girl broke up, been feeling pretty down and I don't yet feel up for going on the pull since its been a year now but I'm sorting out my head space. I'm eager go get back into it, but I've not been wanting a relationship for a while now, and I guess I've not been crazy or willing. Give it a week or so and I'll be ok, still feel shit right now though, but got to stick to my decision and not be tempted to end up fucking her again.

It was such a pain in the arse having to go through this palaver again after going through it once already. There were a load of reasons for my ending it, though oddly when attempting to do so it was quite difficult finding any of them. All in all, I wasn't getting what I wanted from the relationship, it was taxing and difficult to deal with, she was emotionally immature, massively insecure and bordering on obsessive.

I'm frustrated with myself that I let it get to this point and that I fell back into the relationship, though admittedly there were times when I did enjoy it. All is done, and progress is inevitable.

Now, to stop being gay.

Just food for though, I heard something along the lines of this and I've followed it through since my last serious relationship.

My last one was probably a heightened version of your(well everyone says their ex was the worst). And according to the quote, it means I was very similar. I was a little obsessive, immature and insecure, especially when we first met. I promised myself to alleviate these issues, so when the next one does come around I'm ready.

I think in some ways that is true, but rather that aspects of my behaviour may cause attributes to become more prominent in the same way that if somebody is susceptible to an illness that could be provoked by drinking or smoking, doing so would do exactly that.

The truth is she's not a bad person, or even a bad girlfriend, we were never truly compatible, and whilst for the most part it was fun, its just run its course.

I'm always wary about giving an opinion on relationship stuff. But I think it is like most things in life in that it usually works out better when you go with your gut feeling.

If you feel in your gut that it's not working then trying to rationalise it probably wont work. It sounds like you're doing the right thing.

She came over Saturday to drop some stuff off, all dolled up ready to go out and then informs me that her friends have bailed and she's going out on her own. What the hell can I do in this situation, I could have left her to go out on her own, but would have never forgiven myself if something had happened and she got hurt.

So of course we end up fucking, and she leaves in tears the next day. I'm fully aware I could have done things differently, but I didn't. Fuck.
