My First Day Game Thread

Saturday Oct 25th
Me and Dave head into town around 2pm. He parks in Castlefield and we head up Deansgate. As this was Dave's first proper day game outing I thought it would be good to warm things up. So we start by stopping random girls up Deansgate and asking them directions. This goes well (we ask 2-3 different girls each) and we head into Kendals. Dave tries on some shoes and vibes well with a hot assistant. I discreetly linger nearby to listen and she starts opening up to him telling him a story. Nice.

We then head into Slaters and I chat to one of the assistants there. After looking at more shoes we head out into the streets again and are getting nicely socially lubricated. I then decide it's time to head to Aldi. Dave opens a German girl by the cheeses straight away by waving at her to grab her attention and commenting on her tshirt. She looks impressed at his ballsyness. They vibe nicely for a bit and she definitely likes Dave, but he ends it, he wasn't too interested in her.

I then have a wander and spot what looks like a hot oriental girl from behind looking at tinned tomatoes. She is wearing long stripey socks and hotpants. I couldn't resist and walk over to say hello - 'Excuse me. I had to come over and meet you. I think your outfit is really cool, really loving the socks.' She is taken aback, but definitely happy about this. I then ask her her name and introduce myself. We chat about where she lives, what she is doing today etc. She occasionally seemed unsure what to do with herself at times, sometimes putting her basket down, and sometimes picking it up as if she was about to leave. I ignored this and ploughed on.

I manage to initiate some physical contact with her and after about 5 minutes of chatting decide it's time to move on and I definitely want to shag this girl - 'I feel like I want to get to know you more, what's a good way for us to stay in touch?' She immediately goes for her handbag and wips out her phone. I get mine out and she starts giggling uncontrollably and apologizes. She is blown away. Is this the definition of 'swept off her feet'? I pop my number into her phone and we typed each others names in. I then say 'give me a hug' and she obliges telling me she hadn't had a hug in ages. I say that's no good, and depart.

So that evening i text her - 'Hope your dinner was nice tonight Joy! I'll give you a ring tomorrow ;-)'

She responds - 'It was very nice to talk to you as well. I was really surprised at that time, so I hope I didn't do or say anything weird during the talk. Glad that you like my outfit. You really made my day... Sweat dreams'

I'd read many things about the value of surprise for the girl in day game and how it can 'make their day', whether it be the fact that noone else dares to approach them in the day, or that it demonstrates I am a man taking want I want, when I see it. Her text is evidence to me that this is true.

Last but not least. I went to a party that very evening and was buzzing as a result of my day close. There weren't many people and only 2 girls, both quite cute. I was on top form leading various conversations in groups of people and jumping round the kitchen to music I liked. Generally have the best time out of anyone there. One of the girls couldn't resist this and started grinding with me while dancing. I k-close her after a lot of grinding, and head back to hers to f-close.

This is evidence that once you have you overall frame set with options and are flowing with confidence, girls can smell this a mile off and attraction is strong. Not to mention me having a good time regardless of all the other people there.

Yeah, a lot of things I've enjoyed reading about day game and believed would work are making sense to me now. I am trusting in myself to deliver the goods in most random interactions now. Thinking ahead was always so self destructive to all my interactions with girls and made me nervous. It has to be said Improv has helped NO END!! I am not a regular, but having been 4 times in the past 3 months has been a revelation to what everyone is capable of.

As for who Dave is... It's the Dolphin... or as you put it Tom - BIG DAVE

Another note to add. The flow on saturday was great with both me and Dave. It was advantageous for us to be chatting not just to each other but starting things slowly by chatting to assistants in shops and asking innocent questions to randomers on the street. It got us warmed up nicely, kept things moving and meant we weren't stuck in our heads worrying about what to say.

Tues 17th Oct
Me and Dolphin Dave head to The Trafford Centre to see what’s happening ladies-wise and so I can pick up some stuff to play football. So we wander in, it’s the first time I’d been in about 3 years. I’d never been a big fan of the place, shopping on the traditional streets my usual preference. Anyway we get the ball rolling and chat innocently to a couple of shop assistants. One in particular I approached with ‘Hi, how’s it going’. She was folding clothes. She starred at me as if to say ‘Do I know you?’ She says nothing. I then say ‘I thought you looked bored so thought I’d come and say hi’. This didn’t really go down well at all. I walk off and then see her again a few minutes later. I try again ‘Do you have any woolly V-neck jumpers’. She takes me over to them, again sayign nothing. I ask her what colour she think would suit me but she isn’t having any of it, ‘what colour would you like?’ This girl isn’t in the mood for chatting with me today. I give up. I guess there’s a number of reactions girls can have to the initial surprise of a day time approach and a number of moods they can be in. Maybe they just don't want to talk to anyone today, don't take it personally. I for one didn’t hold firm though and let her surprised reaction phase me into rushing a response. Attraction potentially lost, if there was any in the first place.

We move on and decide to have a mooch in Ann Summer’s. Plenty to see in there and quite a few girls. This was a high pressure environment to open in with sexually charged objects everywhere. Dave picks up a bondage wip and asks a girl nearby if she’s use in on a man. She has no hesitation, ‘Oh yes’. We depart and wander round some more. We both chatted to one or two shop assistants again to keep things fresh, not much in the way of customers though. Only couples and mum and daughters... very thin on the ground, and not much I could get my teeth into attraction wise.

Finally I do open a stranger. A couple of girls looking at plates in John Lewis. I walk over ‘Hi I saw you and had to come and tell you, I think you’re beautiful’... this came over so damn cheesy!! Haha! I didn’t say it with sincerity to be honest, plus I waited for a reaction (bad mistake). I didn’t move the conversation on and ejected. What could they say, 'Thankyou, what's you name?' and fall into my arms!

So a few things to learn. I need to apply more sincerity to my compliments to girls, do I mean it when I say it?! I think most of all I need to start ignoring the girls initial response. Whether she is positive or cold I should let this bounce off me and plough on regardless and talk to her. In short, looking for validation from my approaches was today’s main problem.

Last night was a learning experience, it was different from day game on saturday for a few reasons.

1. It was night time.
2. It was a tuesday.
3. The talent on the ground was a lot thinner.
4. It was the trafford centre.

I personally dont believe this means its impossible to get results, just think maybe it threw us a bit and made it harder to build the momentum, then finding a girl to talk to was even harder!!

Personally I was a bit disappointed that the few girls I did like - I didnt open, I opened one girl that from a far looked nice, but close up didnt so I bailed on it. Also Ive still got a problem with chasing after a girl when shes gone past me... Hmmm!!

If I get a chance I may go back tonight to see if my wednesday/sunday theory about day game holds true. I wanna focus my efforts on to day game for a while and try different venues like museums and libraries.

Nothing ventured nothing gained.
