I've got to the point where I'm so cynical I barely watch the news or read a paper anymore. It's like the current middle east de-stabalising as Reflex says, and now Libya, I mean it's all strings pulled behind the scenes for geopolitical advantage. Do I think the shit is going to hit the fan in 2012? I hope not. I don't like that Obama is in power in the States, he's entirely too smooth. I've heard all kinds of stuff, from the solar system moving through a strange belt in space, to solar flares, to the dollar collapsing. Who knows, greatest probability is it's just another Millennium Bug fiasco.

PS
On Obama.. He's really not all that smooth and he's gone back on a lot of campaign promises etc etc. He's controversially unpopular on a lot of topics.

If you followed American politics at all though, you'd be grateful it's him in power and be rooting for him to be re-elected. Palin has a good chance of being his opponent in the next election, fuck everything about that!

Well I follow a little, and am aware of his difficulties. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that it's a funny co-incidence that you get one president who wields "hard power" and pisses off the world, then another who offers a conciliatory tone and is almost messianic in his oratory. Could be convenient to have that charisma for people to follow if things get dramatic. Seems to me American foreign policy is like turning on the hot tap for a term or two, then the cold tap for a term or two. Even when the cold tap is turned on, they're still exerting change in the world just not so blatantly, as at present. Palin posted some terrible numbers at times in the last election and one would hope that Americans would see her for the joke she is, but if the powers that be steer her into power by manipulating the media, we'll just have another moron in the Whitehouse which is not uncommon.

I think the US is playing a very subtle (and not so subtle) strategic game.

There is also a LOT that goes on behind closed doors we never get to hear about.
I do think the US is trying to make and force friendships/regieme changes in key countries as part of a long term game of chess for continued world domination.

I think the US war machine is an awesome force of sheer numbers and technological prowess

Its inevitable that at the current rate of expansion China will become the new Hyperpower in the world in the next 50 years, overtaking the US.
unless maybe the US secures much of the Oil in the world? hmmmm

It's because the types of people that follow the two parties in America are VERY different.

On the one hand you've got the Republican party who are very pro-military and continue the military industrial complex that America has. This set of people are controlled by the media, networks such as Fox are owned by incredibly biased political sources and constantly smear the Democrat party while brainwashing Republic viewers. The Republican party is very rich people for the rich but also draws in the stupid people by creating enemies for them to hate and rally against - currently muslims/terrorists.

On the other hand you've got the Democrat party who are more intellectual and socialist, actually want to try and improve the country etc etc.

It's actually INCREDIBLY scary to see the kind of retardedness demonstrated by half of America, yes literally half. Google some "tea party" things or look up some of the retarded stuff half the republican candidates say, like Palin for example. You soon realise the extent of the problem.

The two parties are constantly at war with each other in this regard. None of this is helped by the fact that both parties are backed by a lot of corporations and thus have to keep those corporations happy or lose their funding.

Their entire system is broken and fucked up.

On a lighter note, a zombie apocalypse would be cool but I'm not sure it's even possible... In warm/average times of year they'd rot and the birds or bugs would eat them while in winter they'd just freeze because they're dead and not warm blooded.

I think it would be better for an either:

1)an invasion of man eating plants -like day of the triffids
2)invasion of Alien microbes from a meteorite which overwrites human DNA and replaces people

3)The Earthquake in Japan awakens a Mega monster that is eventually defeated by Godzilla!

Seconded - that way, having spent the best part of my formative years playing Resident Evil, it will all have been time well invested.
And tbh, there's about as much chance of a Zombie Apocalypse as there is a Mayan-predicted end of the world scenario.

However, if you really want to know how the end of the world -as we know it- will happen, then watch a documentary called 'Collapse' with Michael Ruppert - he's an investigative journalist along the lines of John Pilger. It's not one of these hokey made-for-youtube films - it's won awards and shit all over the place.

Essentially it's about Peak-Oil; the world's finite supplies of Fossil Fuels; and how it all links into the worlds economies - our reliance on oil extends beyond how we fill our cars up: oil is the base product of 99% of man-made materials - there is no replaceable alternative to oil. And we are running out of it at an alarming rate

Our world economy is inextricably linked with the price of oil, and for as long as oil prices go up, the more the economy will suffer. That's why we are in the longest running and deepest economic downturn in history - it's been almost 4 years now since the shit hit the fan!! And make no mistake - there will be no recovery!

Mike Ruppert predicted in the mid-90's that the world's economies would collapse - he also correctly predicts in the documentary about the unrest in the middle east, riots and unrest in greece, and even air-traffic controllers striking in Spain! (bear in mind, this was filmed late 2009, when Gaddafi was still considered by most as an adorable loon)

Watch it - it will open your eyes up to the real problems in the world rather than worrying about fairy-tale disaster stories.

Much love,

Craigus

Aye, the best of the bunch that one, I didn't agree with all of it though and of course the abiding point is if you get too into this stuff you end up penniless and depressed like he does, at least before the film comes out. Robert Newman's History Of Oil is funny and contains talk of the Petrodollar, there is Why We Fight and some others on Itunes, and of course the 3 parts of Zeitgeist...to name a few.
