Just wanted to expand on this scenario a little, heres the typical story:

Girl decides she deserves her ideal man.
Girl meets guy she'd like to shag for while but who does't measure up to her ideal.
Girls tells guy "I'm not looking for something serious at the moment"
Girl start to spend time with guy regularly.
Despite her initial intention, girl falls in love with guy.
Girl realises shes emotionally involved with a guy that at a concious/rational level she doesn't want a long term relationship with.

From this point it can play out in lots of different ways, but none of them will be good for the guy if he has also become emotionally involved.

I've seen quite a few storys of woe on here that seem to fit this pattern very well. A lot of the times the guys are trying to work out what they have done wrong to make her apparently change her tune overnight. IMO the answer is often: nothing - the only mistake they have made is to not be what shes set her sights on.
