Yeah I agree. It's a crutch, crutches are necessary at times, then hopefully you get to the point where you don't need them anymore.

Social behaviours are learned, they're not instinctual, look at any of the feral children in third world countries. They huge difficulty integrating into society when they're plucked from the wild.

While most of us learn the requisite social skills in order to be successful enough in order to procreate and thus continue the species it is indeed possible to either not learn these skills or be taught that something else is right when it is in fact wrong.

Most people in pickup have the prerequisite skills to be able to attract some kind of partner and procreate but are looking to be able to attract a partner of much higher value than the ones they think they're able to attract upon starting out here.

We have had nearly 3 million years of natural selection wherein the most worthy males have bred and had offspring. We are a product of those 3 million years. Of course we have the instinct - if we didn't we'd have been weeded out of existence pretty damn quick.

Let me put it this way - have you ever seen a little boy of about 3 interact with people? Do they need tactics and pick-up lines and NLP to go and chat to someone they've just met? Do they bollocks - they just rock up and say "look at my cool train". We could do alot worse than learning from children.

I'm agreeing with RLA even though the three year old story is mentioned I think it's more to do with lack of fear. the three year old still had to learn how to talk, and if you or I were to act like a three year old we'd get some funny looks.

Are you trying to say every kid acts that way? Have you never come across a child that is incredibly shy? Or won't talk to people they don't already know?

The child without inhibition is a popular trope, not all kids are like that. Some are confident, some are bumbling, some are shy, some are easily scared, some will cry at anything, some will fall on their face and laugh it off, some have difficult making friends and some do not.

It's examples like this that the industry use that makes me think what I'm expressing, because it's one dimensional example to explain a two dimensional point. Every PU theory states that you have to get it wrong and put in loads of trial and error to succeed, if you did this with learning to drive you would not need lessons or instruction, you would just eventually learn it. Add to the fact that human interaction starts from a young age and is something which has accumulated from years of evolution. All in all the example is one that serves the purpose to promote pick-up, much like when the Tories compare our debt to a credit card to justify cuts, which is another self serving example as a credit card can not be paid off by growth, which is a vitally important part of reducing the deficit or paying back our debt.

lets stay away from politics and football for that matter, nobody is saying the average AFC can't interact or confidence is not important. What I am saying is that PU methods works. I'll proove it, I am now 10 times more confident that I used to be and I wasn't unconfident then, I was an AFC when it came to wmen, several pints courage before I could face talking to a girl and even that was hard and I must have reeked of fear.

I had a crisis with PU last month, (long story), for one night I tried AFC ways to PU and stuck to relgiously for four hours I got zero numbers. zero The next day got a number from a girl in tesco's looking at bananas, using method.

Confidence is not enough, the abilty to interact is not enough

The fact that you make a distinction of one method being AFC and have confidence in the other being superior would most likely influence your results and reinforce the theory you have learnt.

If this is case how has the human race survived and continued to replicate for thousands of years without PU theory, how is that I've met people that have slept with over 100 women without ever reading a piece of theory using simple and non structured technique and how is that whenever I try scripted theory I get worst results than when I just say whatever I want and don't really think about whether it's AFC or not or really give a shit. A lot of AFC stuff is only AFC because it lacks confidence or is done because of a lack of confidence which shows. I'm not saying that everything PU teaches is useless, just you can learn it by getting out there and using the trial and error that you need to do to get good anyway, being yourself and having confidence in what your doing.
I was watching a thing about Paul Janka recently and his technique is to make eye contact, introduce himself, make some sort of physical contact and ask for a number within 20 seconds and leave and he gets ridiculous results, he was secretly filmed getting 3-4 numbers off hot girls within 25 minutes.
