Her post was stupidly worded and yes if you look at it technically she was referring to herself, but that's not how the vast majority interpreted it and I don't know if you ever tried this in public but when someone gives you a comeback and everyone in the room who hears it goes 'oooh' and laughs, the winning response is not "err, well technically speaking you were referring to yourself" to the applause and laughter of no-one.

Furthermore, it seems that there is a common misconception that the emotional state of the writer is reflected in their words. But as I have demonstrated, this is not always the case. It is possible for an author to write dialogue for a character who is feeling confused, without themselves being confused in the slightest.
