Default Hobby ideas - 14-10-2014, 11:14 PM

Hey guys, I've had tendidnitis in my hand for the last 7 weeks, and has been preventing me gyming or playing football as I don't want to damage it even more. This is causing me to get a soreness issue due to a lack of excercise, but I know can prevent that by jogging

What I wanted to ask is if anyone has any good hobby ideas I can start doing, as my mind is starting to go insane from the eat, work, shit, sleep life.

To play sport and get bigger...that doesn't answer my question though

any interest in videogames? I can think of a few great ones that you can play without needing full agility in both hands (but would avoid first person shooters!)

read a book?

depending on which hand it is, you might be able to play guitar, or another instrument. no idea if music is something that appeals to you, but it's something that's very easy to bury yourself in for hours on end if you enjoy it

I've been enjoying poker. With some basic tips you can do well for yourself. If you do model railways you will have no problem finding people to beat you up

Know Thyself.

Have fun.

I've had tendonitis in my left hand for a similar length of time as you. I kept it from healing by training through it for a month (although I never realised I was injured to that extent).

I keep it in the splint the hospital made for me, for about half of the time.

I layed off from boxing so it could heal. I did 6 rounds the other night to see how it was doing but the next day I could feel the vibration in my knuckle & so it wasn't healed. So still no more boxing for a while longer.

I haven't gave up breakdancing though. Still doing it.

Start breakdancing, it's a cool hobby. Last night we done a freestyle session & the instructor threw some serious shapes including the windmill, which looked amazing - the windmill is the pinnacle of breakdancing & I'm pretty sure literally everyone would love to do it whether you're into dancing or not. I definitely intend on getting to that level where I'm throwing out power moves with ease.

You can't win if you don't play

Used to love playing poker. Awesome game. Also extremely time consuming if you totally get into it.

Another would be knitting or stamp collecting - the ladies will love that, its a hidden PUA technique not many are aware of.

I try and stay off the computer/tv screens as I work on them all day.

Poker is a really good idea, I'm okay at it, just don't have much patience to sit there hours on end...even when I'm up. I'll check if theres any meets or clubs around me.

I'll email the street dancing class near me to see how much of their hands they use. At this stage my tendonitis is improving, I just don't want to fuck it up. You really don't realise how much you use your opposite hand till you break something.

I was also thinking about taking singing lessons, not seriously, just something I do all the time and could do with getting better at.

As for stamp collecting, I was wondering where I could find with images of a knitting kit or model trains on.

As for the your question Red, I'm not very big, I am getting bigger. But why are you asking that, it has nothing to do with the thread, do you want to play thumb war some time...I'm pretty good at that

Try to rest it, keep your hand in the splint even when you sleep and the doc probably told you ice and ibuprofen, think my hand will be better in a 2/3 weeks, maybe yours will be the same.
