Now I've read a lot about what other people have said about social media pickup or more accurately Facebook pickup (never heard of anybody getting a date from Twitter...). I've never tried it, nor am I sure I will the whole thing just seems a bit strange to me, but that being said before learning about pickup the whole idea of that seemed strange too. But I'm just kind of curious as to what the etiquette is.

I mean do you just add random people and send a message to them introducing yourself? To me that just sounds like a lame ass dating site, you may as well just use PoF at least you know the women there are up for it. Is it friends of friends, people you've met in passing, or people you've actually a conversation which ended in 'find me on Facebook', which I've actually had but not bothered to find them (since I feel its pretty much a cop-out response) and then had them find and add me which took me by surprise I'll be honest.

I tried it and you get conversations etc and flirting but on the meet theyre like "Wtf we don't know each other", didnt experiment enough to figure it out, which plenty of people can and have done.

Its easier to go to a bar or the town centre I think. You live next to it too.

It seems like a pretty lame way to meet people. I remember trying to add hot Asian girls about a year ago and chatting to some of them. Nothing more came of it. Like Barn said, they don't know you. You could be some old guy as far as she's concerned.

Yeah thats pretty much what I thought, nothing really compares to real world interaction I was just curious into whether people actually do that shit and whether its even been successful.

I've pulled girls over facebook. I even have my son out of a relationship that began due to facebook.

But nowadays it is close to impossible to get the really hot girls off it. It's usually a waste of time trying.

You might get some conversations going, & you might even start thinking its on due to the direction the conversation or "connection" is going, but it can easily fizzle out.

Yeah I'd be quite curious as to how you pulled that off too, I mean if it is possible to actually meet women and have a real 'connection' then I'd probably give it a shot, but I'm really doubtful that it would since you'd just be coming across as that Facebook stalker.

Well for one my child's mum is hot, even if she has been a bitch. We had a genuine connection though, at the time.

When I just joined Facebook in 2010 there was this girl I knew from school, but hadn't seen in years. We got chatting & decided to meet up. So we did, & had a short fling.

A couple of months ago some girl I got a number off on fb came to my place after some carefully worded texts that made her change her mind about going home. It was disappointing though because she wasn't great looking compared to her pics.

I'm not saying I'm seasoned at all, just that any hot girls I've messaged on it in recent months who I did have conversations with fizzled out after a while.

I rarely bother trying now, unless of course I've already met the girl before.
