Default Costume question - Where the differences lie - 12-02-2009, 10:39 AM

Hi All,

Following my intro I think alot of my sticking points - fundamentally not being able to approach is down to costume/look.

So a couple questions...

1. Should your Day Game clothes be considerably more dressed down, ie. peacocking at the shopping centre I just imagine to have an adverse effect.

2. Is the general census that "its not what you wear its the skill level of your game".

3. Work restricts me on things like haircuts etc etc so I'm finding it hard to get a look that I like, I've tried shopping with women I know, I've even tried to find a Gay guy to go shopping with because of these cliched speculations that they know what to pick. Nothing really suits me, or maybe it does but I just think it doesn't - Should I just pick a celeb. with similar hairstyle / body size and match their looks?

(thorn in my side for a long while LOL)

Cheers
Ambitious

All you really need is to be presentable and well-groomed. That's it! All the rest is just an extension of you. If it's not you to dress like Mystery, then if you do, you'll not be congruent and babes will pick up on that because they have amazing sesory acuity (learn NLP if you don't know these terms). Just be you, but wear neat, clean clothes. Comb your hair. Trim your beard. Pop in a breath mint.

AMAZINGLY GOOD OPENER: Along these lines, when you see a female that strikes your fancy, approach her and say, "You have a good sene of style. Where would a guy around here shop for cool clothes?" After she give your here advice, "Go to ABC store, they have nice stuff," invite her to come with you to pick out an outfit. INSTANT DATE!!!! Belive me, this lame-ass opener works. And, you'll have a nice outfit that you know damn well appeals to the type of ladys you are targeting.

Your welcome.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll have to get some photos then and stick them up.

That opener actually sounds like a quite legit question and I can definately see it working, I'll try that when I'm out next and who knows.

I think with my points, because I have short shaved hair the only real celeb I could think of is David Beckham. I've looked as his dressing styles and its either fully suited and booted (like OTT looking like a wedding) or casual but to the point I couldn't see him standing out. I've thought a subtle piercing (that I can get away with at work) but im not sure it would suit me, its that whole "it either suits or you look gay" but then piercings arent permanent so I could just try it.

I've got myself a few friends together and will be going out tonight... making the first move towards a new life, I'll pluck up the courage to talk to a random girl that I don't know and try some material I have canned... If I die on my arse I'll certainly let you know on the 'Field Reports' section

I'm telling you, go to a mall (or whatever you call them in England) and try my opener. First of all, she'll appreciate the complement (good taste in clothes). Second, assuming she has the time, and she's out shopping, so I'm pretty fucking sure she has the time, she'll be happy to help. You can build some major rapport during this time, my man. You can be tapping that ass within four hours.

My advice is simple. Be yourself. Your style/look should merely express whats on the inside, if it doesn't its fake and lasses will pick up on it (like Russian' said). Werely look at clothes and buy what you like and what suites you. You can augment this by picking parts of your personality you want to express and showing them. For example I'm a bit alternative and have a different taste in lasses from most blokes I know - so I have a labret (centre of my bottom lip) piercing and I wear a pointy stud in it. This highlights that I'm different, but it isn't enough to scare off other lasses. Plus your style is always changing, because your always growing and learning, if it stays the same then you'll just stagnate.

Also I'd just like to say that socially American women are different to English women.

If you really want to change your style I can recommend this book - Metrosexual Style Guide

I think that when you start out all of the little things like peacocking help to build inner game... once you get this stuff down to pat and your inner game improves you will develop your own style in all ways.

Don't get too hung up on your look I am completely bald and a bit over weight and I get it like you would not believe (i target a specific type of woman and go where they would hang out) and every now and again (very rare) I don't...

If you walked up to every woman in the UK and asked "Shall we go back to mine and fuck each others brains out?" statistically at some point you would get a yes and they would not give a hoot what you were wearing.

Buy the Style Guide it will be the best £10 you will spend. Then find things within it that you are comfortable wearing. If you are comfortable in your own skin your actions will speak louder than your hawaiian shirt..

I am completely bald and extremely overweight. Hell, 00 has seen me, I'm morbidly obese. But I love myself. That has made all the difference.

I think the general idea that everyone is getting at here is wear what you feel comfortable in . If your chatting to a set and you feel your most comfortable , of course it will come out in your game !

Personally when i started out i peacocked like nothing on earth more just to get comfortable with it to build confidence ... (hypnotica ... dildo ... dress , read up on it)

However its always been my style to be different , even before pua i wore jewellry , eyeliner , piercings so for me what most would consider peacocking , i consider my usual style .

As my friend kowalski said , it's just about being noticed and NOT blending in that gives you that edge .

Wear whatever the hell you want if you feel your best in it (and obviously looks nice)

I guess in this respect i have to agree with Kowalski ... be authentic
