I think a large reason for this is as you get bigger your muscles take longer to recover because the intensity of the workout is that much greater.
most people at this point either don't gain much at all.
use steroids which will work but other risks involved and even then the roids can only do so much.
or increase the amount of working out they do this is the worst thing you can do.
In order to grow your body needs rest. If you push your muscles to the limit too often they will not recover and you'll actually get weaker.
you may be thinking this is pussy talk but you'd be wrong. I'm still saying go all out but longer rest periods as you get bigger.
