So what follows is my first attempt at pickup sober for about two years: so walked over to my friends house to pick up my bike which I left there last night when I notice this cute looking brunette sat by herself just watching eating lunch. I walked behind her kind of just checked her out. I got to my bike, unlocked it and approached from the side 'excuse me, do you know where the train station is? I'm meeting friends in 10 mins or so', 'its over there' she pointed directly on the other side of the river. I knew it was there and made out that I tend to only stick to roads when I cycle, hence being disorientated.
I sat down beside her to find out that she was on accountants course, which by her own admission said was boring... I agreed with her but said thats where the moneys at! She also said that she was moving to Bristol today so we spoke some more and it ended with her giving me her number which was just ridiculous. We left it as I said 'I need to and meet my friends', 'I need to get back to my course inside; thanks for the chat', we both stood and started walking away from each other,'your most welcome, it was good to meet you; enjoy the rest of the course', 'ha, I probably won't.
So there it is. I was going to leave it until tomorrow that I text her, something along the lines of 'I'm walking down the stationary isle and thought of you, drink sometime etc'.
So happy with myself.

What I liked about the situation is
1. She's moving into Bristol today and I'm (probably) one of the first blokes from Bristol to ask for her number.
2. She offered me her name and hand to shake before I offered mine.
3. She was quite playful in respect to 'sorry, I would move, but i'm quite comfy'
The only thing that annoyed me was I kept uttering the phrase 'so, er, yeah, it's cool / all good' after every couple of sentences. Think that must have been a nerves thing. I'm also concerned about the ending when we said goodbye- we didn't hug, peck on the cheek or anything like that. What should have I done?
Now all I want to do is ask her out on a date! But playing it cool is often my downfall. What Should I text... Or should I call her? And when?

I always like to call the shots and not ask permission to take her out just state that you are going to. If I was in your position I would go with something like, 'I am going to show you some of Bristols hot spots, when are you free?'......or something more casual like 'I am going to X bar on X night you are welcome to join me'.
I generally text, although many people on here will insist on phone calls. Personally I dont think it matters all that much.

And if she doesn't pick up, leave a voicemail, or just pester a bit? I see a call as overly keen - do girls often pick up the phone to a guy they spoke to 5 mins the other day? The idea of that, has once again turned my stomach into a bit a spaghetti junction.
Thank you for your help chaps!

Thanks Phil, I'm going to use your option. As she said she was doing a boring accountancy course, I might text her 'At Asda walking down the stationary isle reminded me of you ect'... does that make sense or is that a bit dorky?
