Default Compliments on her look - 23-09-2009, 03:33 PM

Anyone got any good tips for complimenting a girl on her style?
I realise thatr educating myself on womens fashion would help a great deal, but I just don't think I can be arsed.
Whenever I usually comment on what a girls wearing, I'll probably just say something like 'Nice dress, or nice shoes, I..erm...really...like..the colour. And although I genuinely do think so, it's so obvious that I don't know what i'm on about that I just end up looking silly!
So any wisdom handed on here would be very much appreciated. x

It's only technique in its conjunction with meaningfulness that you get a work of art

I tend to avoid compliments as a opener (or fullstop) so I dont come across as the "nice guy". Compliments on clothes are too cliche, I'd probably compliment their vibe or energy over their clothes. Its more personal and takes the compliments away from how they look.

Just my 2 cents

I see what your saying, but I think just a vague idea of whats going on here might help me a fair bit. I'm not looking to use this stuff to open, or to be able to get into a ten minute conversation about it, I just feel very uneducated when it comes to this subject and feel that if I would probably benefit from a few pointers.

Bro, time to learn that there's no hard and fast rules and there's no such thing as a nice guy (it's just a state of mind). For the first few months of my pickup journey I was all about following the strict mystery method rules, but you soon learn that it doesn't matter what you say as long as you have a strong frame.

Opinion openers are great, but so are functional ones as long as you have complete confidence in yourself and what you're saying. Case and point, last night I was talking to some friends in a club and these two girls were walking past us in my periphery. I jumped in front of them like a mad man and said, "Ooh you're wearing face paint! Ooh and it's purple, my favourite colour!". Because my energy was high and my frame was tight they were happy to stay there and continue talking to me. A few minutes later my mate came in with a very non-textbook introduction and took away the obstacle far sooner than would be recommended, but I was able to immediately isolate and had a really good set. Point being, fcuk what you heard, try everything!

I'm currently experimenting with direct day game. IMO one of the most powerful ways to open a woman is to tell her that you had to stop her because she's so cute. As long as you're confident and have somewhere to go with it then it's more than likely that she's going to respond really well. This method goes against everything that's been previously taught, but it works MORE effectively than spending 30 mins DHVing, negging and all that b0llocks.

Try everything 100 times before you rule it out IMO.

If it's during the day:

"Excuse me, I just had to stop you to tell you I think you're so cute! You just walked past me over there and I was like "I've got to go and say hi to this girl"...

"Excuse me...I just had to say I fcuking love your boots!"

"Excuse me...I'd kick myself if I didn't say this...you have a really interesting look about you. I love it when I see someone who actually stands out for a change. What's your name?"

etc...

Only say it if you mean it though.

It doesn't always have to be a complement either; it can just be a comment about her appearance. Every time I see a hot girl in fancy dress they always get a, "Hey guys...what the fcuk are you supposed to be?"

And they love it!

Direct game is game with all the games taken out.

The best tip for complimenting a woman on her look is simply to observe. What sets her apart? What makes her unique? Women are extremely image conscious so they have a good idea on what their strong suits are. They can tell when you've sat up all morning and memorized a line or phrase.

The more comfortable you are at "thinking on the fly", the easier time you'll have at complimenting women naturally. Some warnings: it may have been mentioned earlier--try to stay away from complimenting her body parts--especially sexual body parts (butt, breasts). There are certainly exceptions to this rule, but while if you're not 100% crisp at your game yet, it might save you a couple of slaps to the face.

Cheers mate, this is good stuff!
Its quite frustrating for me cos when I see a girl and she's wearing an awesome outfit, I just want to be able to make a comment/compliment about it to make her feel good about herself. I wouldn't use this as an opener because I like to feel that I am actually gonna like the girl before I start paying her compliments. Nothing worse than feeding the hungry ego of a bird thats got her head up her arse!

"Is it wrong for a man to love his guitar?"

"It is if he puts his balls between the strings, and strums himself to ecstasy!"

Women don't usually have a "b1tch shield" up during the day mate. By all means, if you like the way a woman looks then you fcuking tell her! Be it her boots, her hair, her style, her pretty face, whatever...like you say it doesn't have to be from a "hitting on her" angle; you're just making her feel good and that in turn makes you feel good.

I will state that it is hard to stop a girl and say this regardless of how easy it may seem in theory. You just have to do it and not over think it though. I used to have a problem of rehearsing how the conversation would go in my head, which caused me to massively over think things, which just lead to failure. Don't over think it; just think "I'm going to tell this girl I like her boots and I don't give a fcuk how she reacts!". That's the most powerful angle to come from. Don't seek a reaction and don't worry about furthering the conversation until you've actually opened your mouth and paid her the compliment.
