Today I got a verbal warning at work for being 'too alpha male'.
What the fuck. I'm pretty sure a fuckin chose I work with grassed me up as he's frustrated he cant AMOG me.

Its so frustrating as I'm just being myself. I have never been nasty to anyone.

Does anyone else experience constant negativity from people just because you are the Alpha?

Yeah I've had a few talkings-to in the past. My previous boss and I clashed on multiple occasions because I had the balls to disagree with her on some things. Nothing as serious as an official warning though.

The problem is, people see us strong, confident blokes doing their thing and not giving a fuck about what other people think and perceive it as arrogance. A while back I seem to remember Kowalski saying the same thing - he said something along the lines of "people who see me as arrogant are weak" - and he's absolutely right. Anyone with their shit in order wouldn't complain or discipline a chap just for being confident and "alpha".

Generally, people who discipline, bring grievances and cause shit over a colleague who does their job well are shit scared that they are being made to look inferior.

Either that or you are crap at your job, which I highly doubt.

I'm so glad you guys agree. I was starting to doubt myself, thinking perhaps I am arrogant.
The thing is, I am very confident and sure of myself- My life is going well in many ways. It's hard to be so confident with a rock-solid reality without being perceived as arrogant.

I think some other males tend to feel threatened by the Alpha, particularly those who feel alpha themselves. I've noticed them 'team up' in the past. I've had so many AMOG banter matches in the past where other chodes chip in and support the underdog, 'teaming up' in an argument. I think it's like a pack mentality. It's in their interests to test the Alpha and their best chance is to team up.

I think ultimately the MD sees my strong qualities as beneficial. It's just one or two challengers who behave emotionally. They won't even realise why they behave like they do.

just make sure you are not mistaking being Alpha with being a complete cock to everyone

I don't think I explained propely. I certainly haven't been getting into arguments. I've never been the arguing type. Arguments achieve nothing and the ego thrives on them.

I meant more to do with office banter. Sort of joking around ad blokes do. I tend to have a strong reality and I'm good with witty comebacks.

I certainly don't care what people think, but after getting the warning its made me think that might be the problem. Whilst most guys shy away from speaking their mind, keeping opinions (particularly controversial ones) to themselves, I will speak my mind. I'll also put people in their place if I feel they have behaved unacceptably.

I think I just have to be more empethatic and less outspoken.
I think the catalyst was when I playfully told a couple of Ladd they were a pair off miserable cunts. I was in a good mood and would never intentionally upset someone.

That attitude worked great for me right up until I got a bollocking.Thats why I'm revising my attitude. Just in the workplace, I think the issue lies in the fact that workplaces have an unnatural heirarchy. However scrawny and weak your boss is, he's the boss. And he may feel threatened if a natural leader is below him.

Maybe it was just some bull shit a manager made up cause they feel like they cannot control you or assert weak authority over you? My managers like that comes in sits down acts all chode. Wish he'd just be more authoritive and say what he wants cause I've lost all respect for him. So instead he whines to HR so HR is on my back.

I have a really weak reality myself. I keep thinking I'm a secret agent during the cold war and then sometimes I keep hearing god's voice in my head, telling me I should stop what I'm doing and go murder some hookers and stuff...I wish I had a more strong reality sometimes but then my unicorn assures me that I'm better off without one.
