Here is one I made up for use on foreign women when you hear them talking to each other. You walk over to them and say while smiling with a big grin so they know it is a joke: "Hey I can understand what you are saying, you are saying that guy over there looks really nice, I wish he would come and say hi to us, so hi". And hold out your hand for them to shake. This sometimes gets a big laugh and then you just follow up with something like; "well how are you doing, my name is ........." The beauty of this opener is that is avoids the problem of them saying: "sorry we don't speak English". Which I found a lot of foreign women say when I have tried to talk to them in the past. It also gets them to laugh which is a great start to any interaction.
