I'm not sad enough to go looking for that info if you wanna ruin your life drinking that's your problem.

when you've lost your friends, family, sanity and physical health I'm sure you're not gonna be saying stupid shit like "you gotta have something in life".

edit: actually you probably will.

It all depends. If you go out & get totally hammered to the point where you are spraying your spit all over chicks while shouting in ther faces & making them sick rather than successfully opening & seducing them, then it aint gunna do much for your game progress is it? Whereas, if you can keep to a certain number of drinks - or at least stop urself from getting legless - you will undoubtedly do much better! Girls dont want anything to do with you if you cant walk straight & are slurring your words, or starting fights, or being aggressive, the only thing you will be remembered by is being "that drunken mess" ...... What would your rather do? Common sense really.

well from my viewpoint when i drink i have fun, but its VERY easy to go overboard, once you start drinking and your mates are buying you drinks and everyones together taking shots its hard to say no. Saying that i go 8 weeks at a time without drink leading up to any fights i have so i know i can do it and have the will power to say no. The thing here is the state your in, if i was out sober in a pumped up mood, excited to be there and with other friends who were also sober then i would be perfectly fine to approach girls and have fun, maybe be a bit more AA but not that much. If i was out and my friends were all drunken idiots and i had to look after them, i would get stressed/pissed off and not be in a good place to talk to girls, i would feel slightly isolated being the only sober person, if i was talking to people i would have to yell and rave away on the dance floor with everyone else who is drunk and pumped up ..so in that case it would be hard.. approaching and generating a good state to talk to people is difficult when u they're all so high energy and your not. Therefore for me, it jus depends on the company your in, the state your in and what type of club your in (super loud or chilled out) that determines whether i would want to have a drink or not..

I totally agree with you bushido, everyone needs a few drinks in them for the craic, plus if you are a teetotaller you generally look like a tosser & i think people subconciously (or not) would rather socialise with someone who is drinking, & not sitting with a half pint of shandy in front of them.

Im saying that, when you find it hard to remember back to the night before, & then when you do remember what you can, & you realise the silly, unnesessary mistakes you made, thats when i personally would take it as a lesson not to be so stupid again & not screw up the good chance i had with that SHB10 by spilling a drink on her / puking on her shoes / burning her £200 dress with my ciggie, all cos of having one too many, thankfully these particular scenarios have not happened to me, the point im making is that they would be disastrous outcomes that i intend to NEVER let happen, fuck that, how gutted would you feel to be getting a same night lay with a stunning blonde, only to fuck it up at the part of the night where you should be leaving together, but instead she leaves with someone else!!

Also, if you are in a bad place emotionally & mentally, its not a good idea to go out & get drunk, the only thing you will pick up is a black eye. When my GF finished with me i hit the bottle heavily, & one weekend i got into five seperate fights, one of the guys was my cousin, two others were friends, the others were strangers. I wasnt going round looking for trouble but i also wasnt taking the slightest bit of shit from anyone....if you had said to me "your a muppet", & you were joking with a big cheesy grin on your face, is an example of how on edge i was cos i would have thumped you in the face.

I've cut back on drinking now though, & for the first period of my life i can now have a sociable & moderate drink without going overboard, cos its HB's that are on my mind .......not booze lol

Thats true. But does it matter what anyone thinks of you for not drinking? Why should you explain yourself to anyone

in most cases id agree... but being socially outcast from a group, means u mayswell not be there!

also note if you keep it up but then give up after a few hours & just have one drink EVERYONE loves you and u get loads of attention coz u decided to join in & girls buy u drinks all night coz its like if they dont you will stop drinkin

i tried allsorts of headfucks like this when i went throo my

MIND FUCK STAGE

social drinking is STRANGE

My minor point on this is a cash/logistics one:

- When there's someone not drinking with your group. All doing rounds on your groups's night out, and I have felt bad in terms of cash/fairness situation for a mate who isn't drinking alchohol yet he insists on being part of the rounds

-- meanwhile the rest of our group are knocking back drinks costing from £3.80 up to £4.50, times each other person, whereas he's on £2 soft drinks

Also, no-one has mentioned driving.

I had a recent night out where I had borrowed a car. Was not drinking, "I've got the car", is a nice clear and absolute statement of intent.

Whereas when I've said the occasional "not drinking tonight" on its own, then inevitably I am challenged why. Usually my genuine answer is, "coz I've been out a lot recently on the piss and need to take a break!".
