Quoting out of context is ridiculous. Lao Tzu was a heavily moral individual, when he talked of the self-righteous he was talking about those that exhibited hypocrisy. He abhorred those that preached but did not practice.

I am however confused as to the purpose of referencing it in this context though. Self righteousness can not be defined by the belief of infallibility on a single topic. There are certain absolute principles that people abide by. For example, I know for a fact that unless I am absolutely forced for my own survival to kill another person or some extreme accident occurs then I will NEVER kill someone. I also know that I will never cheat nor knowingly be part of another person cheating.

On other topics though, I'm certainly not infallible. I aspire to and preach moral decision but will occasionally make wrong decisions just as much as anyone, I've said insulting things I shouldn't have in hindsight, I've angered enough to hit someone, etc etc. There are however absolutes that will not occur.

All you've done is demonstrate that it can be fun. The question was why is it more fun than the moral equivalent?

It's not about being right, it's an exchange of ideas and learning from experience with the discussion. I think you're a bit of a dick for having this self centred view and think it's absolutely responsible for the problem you have of not being able to be attracted to anyone enough to want a relationship but that doesn't mean I don't value the discussions. The more times I have discussions the more experience I get with them the better formed my opinions, thoughts and responses become in similar future discussions, doing what I do this is particularly valuable. On top of that, every now and again there are unexpected curveballs that cause changes in perception and entirely new ways of thinking.

It's not about being right or wrong. If I'm wrong and someone effectively demonstrates that then I accept that and realign my thoughts.

there's no such thing as perfection in genetics, only better adaptation to a local environment. Genetics is always generating variation in order that is the environment changes, the local organisms can adapt to it. You;re right, modern society has fucked up evolution. Now genetic inbreds are procreating constantly and pretty soon men will be almost infertile and everyone will hav cystic fybrosis. Idiot society making life too easy for people.
