Brandishing a knife in an aggressive manner is behavioural.

I know plenty of people who brandish knives in an aggressive manner who are lovelier than my granny. Stop judging people on the way they appear, Jay!

You are such a prejudiced twat.

Peace,

There's a distinct difference between behaviour and image. You know there is.

I'll happily stand next to a guy who has a knife if his behaviour isn't aggressive, when it is that's an entirely different thing though. We're talking about purely image here.

Plus, what is aggressive knife behaviour as opposed to non-aggressive knife behaviour? More prejudice, Jay. You really shouldn't do that.

There is no dichotomy of appearance and behaviour.

Peace,

Brandishing a knife is considerably different to simply holding it.

Ok K. Allow me to define what I mean by image first.

Freeze frame of someone, ignoring all behavioural traits of that character, people will judge purely on what a person looks like regardless of body language, demeanour, tonality etc etc. This is what I mean by judging based on image. There is probably a more specific word I could be using for this but right now it's elluding me.

Nah, you're right K, behavioural traits do have a visual effect. Though I think the distinction between a judgement of someone's behaviour versus purely a judgement of their looks is important.

Swine flu rocker flu Peter Williamson 'died after medics thought was a junkie' | Metro.co.uk

Excellent example of that visual prejudice in action.
