here is my take on this one... I think is is almost impossible to totally eliminate the possibility of those thoughts crossing our minds, some persons are sort of default wired to think backward, it is called thinking backward then forward!!!

Yes definitely many of us think in this way and to some degree I feel its healthy personally. I think it's often a result of a normal upbringing from parents and teachers who impose values that cause this mindset to 'worry how others percieve you', i.e. be hygeinic, look after your appearance, do not swear, have manners etc. These are all behavioural attributes we are taught to conform to for the benefit of those around us.

However often well socially calibrated people trust their instinctual thought process and sometimes reject the 'dont do it' mindset. Also we are often entertained by this kind of behaviour hence why things like jack-ass are so popular. I feel the key is to aim to trust what you have to say is worthy of saying. Thus reducing the fear of 'what people think.' we've all met 'that guy' who everyone seems to respect and respond to. He's not always the nicest guy in the world either. Do you really think he cares much for what other people think?

People seem to respect a man who does and says what he wants when he wants, including woman. Conversely Have you ever met someone who you just feel seems to be trying to tell you what you want to hear but does not really hold those thoughts/opinions? But you can just smell thats exactly what they'e trying to do? People often hate this type of person and say they are 'fake.' We are drawn to those who communicate to us sincerely. An old friend of mine who turned out to be a sociopath won over me and my best friends loyalty by having a very blunt attitude with his life and opinions on everything. We knew he was a baggage of trouble, however his ability to speak his mind so bluntly and profoundly one our affection even after numerous liabilities he caused. The final straw was when he stole 3 grand from my best friends credit card... but thats a different story.

I use this story as a reference as it shows even people who are socially dysfunctional in many ways can win over an audience by 'being congruent'. Even if the real person comes across as an ass hole, A-lot of powerful well respected people in todays society are the type who have this same reckless verbal communication, a few examples include allan sugar, gordan ramsey, the dragons den enterpreneurs and so on.

Think of it like this next time you get blown out, you just havent opened the girl thats going to go home with you that night yet.
