At uni, the literature professors used to be shagging some the hot phd students. The profs were in their late 40s and not that good looking but they were experts in Romantic and metaphysical poetry. I'd say in an academic arena, such as this, intellect would come first and looks would just be a bonus. Remember, intelligence is also said to be genetic.

Personally, I often don't like the girls that a lot of guys would describe as 9s and 10s. I usually find them vain, arrogant, shallow and even stupid. Even physically, I'm not into generically perfect looking girls that look like they have stepped out of a mould.

I like girls who are good looking but have some quirks. One girl that I fancy has a slightly asymmetrical smile which I find adorable.

If I am talking to a girl who is better looking than me, I will maintain the frame that I am out of HER league in terms of personality and intelligence. Either that or I just don't even think about it and see how it goes. God loves a trier.

I'd say they are famous because they are charismatic and that is what is attractive. People who are charismatic or in bands get laid a lot even without the fame.
