this old chesnut...

its shit, as is, plenty of fish and mysinglefriend.ive tried them all, thats what led me to pickup after wasting hours and hours it was like trying to shoot fish in a barrel

dont waste your time and money on it, get out there and meet people face to face and find real people, not these ego grabbing dics on internet dating sites

your find 2 types of chicks on dating sites...

a. low self esteem fattys who never get hit on in bars/clubs, thats why they are on it
b. girls who just love the getting 10 emails a day self asteem boost, they are the 20% that only want 6ft 6 doctors, lawyers, to show off to their friends (who couldnt give a fuck anyways) and they are the ones you dont want

and for those reasons, thats why the girls are single/messed up and not getting hit on and/or in relationships

after working and being best pals with virgin atlantic air hostesses for 10 years ( the most messed up chicks you will ever meet) they are all on match.com and i wouldnt go near that type of chick...they would only email back millionaires and model looking guys (pedal stooling) and would then wonder why they got messed around..

(they also did this on flights too in upper class by the way) and they are 20% of chicks you dont want

dont worry theres another six around the corner...

I have used match and plenty of fish.

Tebbs is half right. There are some seriously fugly girls on there that have never been laid. Just dont talk to these, and ignore their emails if they contact you. There are also some girls who have self esteem issues and wont talk to you unless your George Clooney. These are easy to spot as they have a ton of photos of themselves looking good with very little in the way of a profile description.

Having said that there are some cool girls on there too. I have met up with about 5 girls from dating sites and of those 5 iv shagged 3. All were attractive and had stable personalities.

I see dating sites as a cool way to potentially expand your social circle and meet new people. I think too many people expect too much from dating sites. I think this is especially true when they have paid for the service, you have already but value and investment on something, so you expect something back, which you may not get. For this reason i would advise against something like match.com where you have to pay a subscription. Plenty of fish is free however so i dont see why theres a problem in setting an account up on there. Just go in there with the attitude that if you meet someone then thats cool, and if not then thats cool too, you've made no investment other than the few minutes it took to set up your account.

One thing i dont like with dating sites is online interaction is not nearly as good as live interaction. Your also likely to get screened to fuck so if you are one inch too short or look the tiniest bit overweight in your photos or have the wrong eye or hair colour you will get blown out. To avoid this try and make your profile as good as it can be. Ask close friends which photos they think are the best ones of you. When you write your description, be passionate about the stuff your interested in, show girls you have tons going on in your life and tell them about your good qualities.

I definitley dont view dating sites as a bad thing and would recommend people to try them. Just done pay for the privilege cos theres tons of free ones out there.

Going out and talking to girls in clubs, pubs or wherever the hell you like is your meat and potatoes. Dating sites are the gravy.

Hi phenom thanks for your reply also. I agree that there will always be girls that just feed off their inbox for an ego boost without ever replying to a single one (usually ones with free account), this is particularly true on most social network sites like faceparty (worst site ever made). As far as I'm told I'm blessed with good genetics so lucky enough to get by the screening process based on looks. I have already received quite a few emails (bar the ugly ones) within a week of setting up a free account, these would be girls who have made an investment of paying for an account (otherwise they can't send emails) which would rule them out as one of the low self esteem types - hence I'm considering upgrading to reply to them. That's where your opinions come in before making a £30 investment on a month subscription.
p.s I have no intention of using online dating as a replacement to game, just a supplement I'm curious to try out.

cheers

i'd be very carefull about any messages recieved on match.com before you have signed up. word on the street is the greedy people that run the site have fake profiles that email you getting you to sign up or when your subscriprion has run out.

can not confirm this having never used the site just what i have heard.

I don't think the major sites like match need to resort to that sort of thing. What they actually do is dish out a lot of free/very cheap introductory offers to women because women are much less pre disposed to pay for these sort of services than men and so this is the only way they can keep the number anywhere close to 50/50.

For someone fairly ahem .. mature like me the paid for dating sites are give a good yield since since they are very popular with 30s/40s professional women who have got bored of being hit on a million times a night in bars by drunk dead beats (thats you lot ). Decent looking girls in their 20's are a comparative rarity though.

If your relatively well off (like me) or can fake it fairly well then the various "sugar daddie"/"millionaire" sites are bursting with screamingly hot totty (yes I'm sorry the whole hot-women-dont-care-about-money thing is largely PUA bullshit as 10 mins on one of these sites will clearly demonstrate ...)
