Bump. Good thread for new guys, I know Nova's had some problems with this sort of thing of late!

i now have two of the best wings ever! If the girl sees you have little regard for your friends, it can be a deal breaker. If "sarging", choose wings carefully, otherwise you're better off solo

I prefer to fly solo these days unless I know the guys with me are socially awesome and give value rather than take it all for themselves.

About 2 months ago i bumped into an old mate I used to hang around with as a teen. We went for a pint to have a chat about what we were up to with our lives etc etc blah blah.

We hopped to a few different bars, & were out having a smoke at the third one. I spot this cute blonde chick & open telling her that it was a strange choice of cigarette brand she was smoking. We chat for about 5 minutes, she tells me she is only smoking Marlboro cos she brought them back from the US.

Anyways, it was nothing special BUT, my old buddy that I hadn't seen in 10 years went straight into debrief mode & told me:

"you were moving around too much & looked shifty, she probably felt nervous being around you, you need to learn to relax more when chatting to girls"

I hadn't seen him in years, & as far as I know he knows nothing about PU, he has a long term gf though so I didn't mention it either.

But i was like fucking hell man you are gunna make a great wing haha

Or perhaps he does know about it, this shit is pretty mainstream now.

Please don't fall into the place of "trying" to impress him. I'm worried him being around you will put you in your head too much. Some of us have off moments sometimes and "smooth" moments other times. Don't let him put you in your head by saying "you're doing this wrong, that wrong". Not all pick ups are smooth anyway. He may make you "second guess" yourself in set. A wing should support you and you pump your state together, not out to "analyse" the situation. It kills the vibe.

No I'll keep it cool & won't be trying to act cool or anything.

I don't think he would put me off, I'm pretty sure he would actually help me.

It was just a surprise to hear him debriefing me on my interaction with the blonde.
