Okay, best openers you guys use?

I've tried the jealous girlfriend opener one a lot straight after reading the game, to not much success. I actually once foolishly pointed out that my friend was going through that problem, until he came over and they asked him, and he was like "What are you talking about?" Despite the winks and nudges!

I like the "I need that get your opinion on my new *accessory/clothing item*, and seen's as your easily the coolest person in this place second to me, I thought I'd ask you"

Thats gets me with a good conversation going, then later on I demote them to tenth coolest person if they say something dorky

And sometimes its just good with the observational humor to get the conversation going.

But what openers do you guys use?

What do people reckon to using this one:

*Follow the target to the bar and stand next to her. Ignore her for a minute then turn to her as if you’re bored. Act as if you’ve just seen her. Give her a quick look up and down*

“You buying me a drink sweetheart?”


NOTE: I haven’t used it properly yet, though I did use it when drunk and it did get me a drink and a shag as well as a "Your not like the other blokes. Your a proper heavy weight, you can really take your booze!". So I suppose that counts as using it, but I wasn’t trying to pull, she was pretty but not my usual type.

P.S. – I’m a Yorkshire lad. All women are “sweetheart” or “love” to me.

With this time of year, christmas shopping is a great way to open; especially since I could probably do with the help.

I intend to spend plenty of time at Meadowhall in Sheffield asking for present advice and such.

Normally though, my openers aren't really opinion openers or anything; usually just witty negs or generally alpha-male cockiness. In some cases, this works a charm, and you can normally tell who it will work on as you walk up to a set.

Anything from songs, comedies and such can be used. My current favourite, a line from a new Nickelback song:
*If a girl has a drink in hand and has the drink at her mouth, wait until she lowers her drink and then use your finger underneath the glass to slowly raise it back up. As she looks at you puzzled, just lean in towards her and whisper*

"You look so much cuter with something in your mouth"

*and then start to walk off... *

They usually giggle and start light kino of somekind by like a light slap on the arm or pull you back towards them. Not had a bad reply to this one yet, though as said, I only use it on the type of targets I believe it will work on before-hand.

Don't even have to say something for that one. Just look em up and down with a disapproving look, then smile at them as though you didn't know they just watched you, and walk away.

I've found the dog opener very handy..

'Hey, could I get your opinion on something? I bought a new dog today and I cant think of a name. Any ideas?'

You can get them using their brains and discussing it between them by adding 'Im thinking of naming it after a rockstar'

You can then move on to a routine about what's better, cats or dogs. Then later you can go into an emotive 'my last dog got killed by a car when I was nine' routine...

I try to use a opinion opener for problem senario that I have at the moment, my faveorite one is this:

Me and my best mate are in the middle of a debate, we have this fancy dress party we have to go to but we've been to loads and we need some new I deas, the theame is "B" (so you have to dress up as somthing starting with B). It works as a DHV coz you have said you've been to loads of partys
