I wrote that stuff about redemption because I believe it. I think he is honest with the world and in that he shows himself to be a man, taking the rough with the smooth, and in that he always has a good foundation on which to build. He will prosper and survive in this world. He will do well with women as long as he remembers to choose the ones that turn him on, and not to emotionally invest if she doesn’t really care about him, and that that they like it too and that he should get in there and get down to it, not to dilly-dally too much, and he will be a good lover because he is honest which means he will accept that he needs to learn how they like it, that he has to learn and ask them, and he has to make sure he has a ‘good porny do’ sexually so that he doesn’t get in a relationship where he is used as being kept for best only. His confidence will blossom and he will enjoy a good and fulfilled life. I know all that about him because I know he is tuned-in, that he is real.

But you seem so unwilling to yield, which is not real, you don’t seem to have the strength to accept you can be wrong, and you seem to put all your energy into upholding a hollow lie, trying to make the lie work rather than going back a few steps and starting out on the right foot.

It's actually closer to a mix of post hoc rationalisation and the Barnham effect. Tat seemed to assign personality traits to people based on how friendly they were to him. Typically this would be quite generic, but even then not really directly applicable to those people. Examples of this would be calling Broadsword a tin foil hat wearer for some reason, assuming everyone was secretly laughing at Kowalski for some other unknown reason. I was naturally characterised in the worst way because I was the meanest to him. That's why a lot of the stuff he said to me was again not really applicable, which is pretty clear to anyone on here who actually knows me in any context beyond this thread. You were the one engaging with him, being nice to him and defending him, so he ascribed a bunch of generic positive traits to you for the same reason. Things like 'your words reflect very well your good sense and well-balanced nature' or 'you base yourself in truth'. The positive things he said about you were as generic as anything you would get in a horoscope, and you interpreted them as specific to you by virtue of that very reason. You're especially sensitive to this happening on here because everyone else keeps calling you a retard.

You wouldn't pick up on that if you weren't somewhat close minded in a sense, i.e. a sceptic. Without a bit of healthy scepticism you're likely to believe anything, regardless of how true or worthwhile it is, just because it happens to suit you.
