That is some great advice I have started with the first step of just general conversation with my co-workers.

I found it to be easier than I made it up in my head to be. Basicly just starting a conversation with something and they give you sort of hints or hooks what I can ask them or talk about with them.

1 on 1 I find it easier to talk but in a group I struggle.

The problem you are having is trying to think to much, i would recommend that you start by approaching at least 5 people a day, male or female and ask for directions or have got the time, but real simple questions. This will do 2 things, 1 you will be relaxed in approaching strangers and secondly when you do see a girl you like it will be natural to you to talk to her.
I still use this now in day game if i have found my energy level has dropped and i need to get back in the flow
