The psychopath that is Elliot Rodger -

So I've just heard that this crazy California murderer was an avid puahate and body buildings forum user. So as you do I went away and did a bit of homework and found his "last video". This guy's a psychopatch and what he did was clearly wrong.
Clearly he was given the wrong information or perceived information in a psychotic way. But what I don't understand is how could someone succumb to this and how someone like this could not get any help at all.
I read this article and the last sentence really resonated in me.
Quote:
Why did seven people die in Santa Barbara last night? It would be wrong to pin the crime on Internet forums that indulge in self-hatred, then project it on to everyone else. But they’re certainly not the solution. Misogyny and violence against women is a social problem as well as an individual one. The fact that these men see “game” as the remedy to all personal and social ills is perhaps the greatest indictment of the way they view the world.
From what I've seen there's been a very strong attempt by the media and feminist bloggers to tie Elliot Rodger (and the blame for his crime ) to the PUA community and men's rights activists. In my mind it's a bit like blaming Batman for James Holmes. It might have had an effect, but it can't be considered the primary cause by any stretch of the imagination.
In all honesty given the general cultish nature of the PUA community and the wierdos it often attracts I had a feeling that a psychopath of some sort would be attracted to it and that something fucked like this might eventually happen. That isn't to say that I think it encourages or helps facilitate thoughts of violence towards women or anything like that. However, it does often exaggerate the importance of being attractive to women as if it's some sort of be all and end all, which does seem to have been part of this kid's problem.
In this case though, most of it seems to come down to this kid being an over entitled hateful psychopathic nut bar. I watched the video and it's one of the creepiest fucking things I've ever seen:
Y'all think it's bougie, I'm like, it's fine
But I'm tryin' to give you a million dollars worth of game for $9.99
It's every video I've seen, even videos of him reminiscing of his childhood it's actually scary. I do believe the internet really didnt help the cause. A friend told me he'd received psychiatric help and run ins with the police.
I just puts my dick in the hole, whoever sucks is not my concern. - MarkUK
Holy actual fuck. That actually made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck and made me shiver.
Complete and utter nut case. That actually looks like something straight out of a Hollywood film; makes me wonder if he was also influenced by stuff he saw on TV.
I flicked to a random page in that and it was whining about how devastated he was because he didn't win the fucking lottery. I was a virgin till I was 22 myself and it wasn't so fucking terrible. Kid's pathetic.
It's a bit weird the way that this incident is being used as a stick to beat PUA with. Even though PUA is gay as fuck there is a fundamental message of changing yourself into a better, more attractive and social person. The way things like this article describe it doesn't seem familiar to me at all:
