Default tips for a fat guy? - 14-01-2014, 08:13 PM

I'm very keen to get into this game. I feel confident in myself for learning routines, openers etc. and im usually a quick learner. My big thing putting me off is my weight. Im massively overweight. working on it, but it will take a while

I keep reading about how looks do matter and about proper fitting clothing, which really arent options for me at the moment. is there any advice you can give?

much appreciated

Fashion is a big one. Get wise with what suits you, but more importantly take some risks and experiment a bit more to what you usually wear. Looking back just a year or so ago, I can't imagine I would have had the confidence to wear what I do now.

Reading your post made me think about last year in Crete. Fucking Italians everywhere with their girlfriends and/or family. Many of these Italian dudes were huge, seriously, 1 did a bomb into the swimming pool and actually broke the drainage system so the pool started spilling out all over the place, into the restaurant and everything.

Constantly I was like "fuck sake! This guy!" He had a really loud voice as well so quiet night talk to him was like fucking shouting.

The same guy had his girlfriend with him. A fucking hot blonde chick, quiet girl but fucking hot. I remember I was thinking "wtf how does that work!?!". ATTITUDE! If it concerns you it will effect your performance. Be comfortable with who you are and go out and get what you want. A proactive mentality.

Kinda messing up part of what I said here by saying whilst he was renting some scooter or something, I spoke to his girlfriend and got her number. I also found out it was her who put a little note on my balcony table. But you get my point.

Don't let it effect you.

No reason why you can't start a proactive mindset to getting your weight down by healthy dieting and exercise. And that doesn't have to mean gym work if you don't want to, just buy some weights and do isometrics (basically jumping) or light circuit training at home. Proactive!

I am the master of my fate

As already said by previous posters you don't want to make your weight a limitation on you going out and enjoying yourself. Clothing style can make a big difference.

A year ago I wasn't massive but I was carrying more weight than I wanted to and was unfit. I went to the gym and watched what I was eating. It's hard at first but after a couple of months of this I started seeing the results which encouraged me to keep going. Now it's part of my lifestyle.

I did it for myself and not for anyone else. If it would make you feel more confident it's worth the effort IMO. You just won't see instant results so have to be committed to doing it for length of time.

Seriously mate, lose weight!

I know you said your trying and it's taking its time but you should honestly make this your number one priority.

Not only will your health thank you for it but for a guy that is in shape and healthy your Sexual Market Value is infinitely higher than what any routines and such can provide.

My advice would be health first, game later.

Take a look online at what's current or looks cool to you. Then, head out try on some different threads, see what suits you. Spend a bit of money, especially on shoes, don't get cheap shit from Topman like all the other chodes.
