I sent out maybe 20 cut and paste messages with a slight incorporation to the girls profile, that was sometime last week.

I'm drugged up today so I feel better and thought to check out the responses. 16 responses but oddly, 2 of these responses were of girls just shooting me back their phone number. In the first message.

To me it screams needy and ego boosting validation seeking. But at the same time, my goal it to get their number. I think I'm going to go with my first feeling and just disregard these numbers but, has anyone else come across this kind of thing before online?

What did you generally say in the messages?

Simple, the cut and paste is 'Can I ask you something borderline acceptable'.

The rest is just some stupid random remark like 'since when have you had bright yellow flash eyes, surely you've heard of photoshop :P'.

We should keep this thread on POF going cause it's a bit annoying for us guys just learning. Interactions with women that aren't working out.

I don't care if it's online it should be working much better than it is. We're supposed to be PUA's ffs. There is advice needed here. Barney, you're our banter / snappy return guy. keep giving us the responses to use. We can write them down and / or memorise them.

Rather than memorizing what Barney says, work out your own groove and banter, it won't just boost your online game but also real life interactions if you can be confident and funny

Defo something I need to work on. Years of being logical in the work environment has rusted up my social banter / fun side. The confidence comes and goes at the moment.

I agree you need to access that personality inside you and bring it out. It's got to be original or they smell it a mile off as fake and it doesn't work, even if it worked like a charm for somebody else. This seems to be the same online as for real life. Maybe online you can get away with it for a very short time but you get found out pretty quickly.

The best thing about online is you get the chance to practice it over and over in a relatively 'safe' way. I used to do this on the singles live chatrooms years ago and got quite good at getting them hooked. There was a lot of nutters on there though and they'd never meet you in real life.

No I think it was because of two reasons. One my awful looks and two because there are many more times more men on dating sites than women. By the way I gave up on internet dating years ago.
