It's useful to understand the natural flaws in the human mind, like the tendency to be risk averse, avoid uncomfortable situations, not be present, which can keep you stuck. Some of the PU material can provide tools but too much theory can get you confused and in your head too much when starting off that will cause you to screw things up.

I think on some level most guys have the innate knowledge to do the right thing at the right time. When there's no thinking involved it's simple. What you want to do is bring that out of yourself more rather than, as Stein says, adding more mental clutter.

The 7 Steps to Inner Game Power: Building Unstoppable Confidence with Women - Dan Silverman

Also Models by Mark Manson as previously said.

The 1st one is an ebook which you can probably gain by other means instead of having to buy it.

What was it you found crap about it?

I think a lot of guys who come on this forum exhibit a lot of the issues explained in the book (I know I certainly did) and could benefit from reading it.

Interesting that you extol Model's yet don't like No More Mr Nice Guy despite both sharing incredibly similar parallels. More interesting is that No More Mr Nice Guy comes recommended by Mark Manson in the further reading section of Models.

Each to their own though.

Here is the original pick up manual which was first published way back in May 1970. It has since been updated a couple of times: How to Pick Up Girls!: Eric Weber: 9780914094432: Amazon.com: Books
It teaches indirect game by the way. Here is a short sample of what it tells you, giving a few of its indirect openers: "How do you cook a leg of lamb? (You've spotted a pretty chick in your grocery store.)
Who's your dentist? (You want to know how she came by such beautiful white teeth.)
Where did you get that marvelous coat? (Tell her you work for a clothing company and think her coat is absolutely terrific.)
Fantastic book! Have you got to the part where the butler murders himself? (The sexy girl sitting next to you on the bus is reading a book you've just finished. Or even a book you've never heard of.)
I'll bet your name is Lisa. (To you, she looks like a Lisa. Pretty and sexy.)
I love you. (To be used half in jest at parties and in singles bars.)
I'm writing a book on picking up and I'd like to ask you a few questions. (I found this to be the picking up line of them all!)"
You have to remember this was perhaps the very first manual about seduction so don't expect too much from it. Before this though there was a British film called "The Knack and How to Get it" from 1965 which touched on pick up slightly but didn't go too in-depth.

I've read the mystery method which brought me here, got models on order too and I've got the blueprint decoded ready to watch when needed. Obviously nothing beats getting out there but hopefully these give me a bit of a foundation

I read Models over 3 nights, I'm not a big reader and it's a damn good book. I had my first date today like so I wanted to just feel 100% ready.. I don't know what happened, either she was totally into me, or I'm more confident that I give myself credit for, but the book certainly helped me on a little

Here's a really cool book (and cheap to get started) that's short but it's got a lot of the demonstrations of higher value and conversation stuff all in the same place. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00J3UL36I

I've just finished reading 'No more Mr Nice guy' after the reccomendations at the end of Models and or here.

I didnt really benefit much from this. Not sure why, maybe Ive over looked parts. Models was something I could relate to easily but that kind of connection never happened when reading No more Mr Nice guy.

I was somewhat dissapointed by it after having quite a few reccomendations. I'll give it a little time and then read it again.

The book is generally aimed at men who have grown up and developed co-dependency tendencies in their relationships (with women in particular). It helps look at the reasons these tendencies are formed (often in childhood) and how they effect later life. It then helps men to break out of the co-dependent cycles and deal with the underlying causes of them.

It could be that these are issues you have never had mate. The book won't be for everyone because not everyone's trouble with women stems from having developed co-dependency issues.

One thing I will say is I'd re recommend Rollo Tomassi - The Rational Male.

I've read this book a few times now and I learn something from each reading. Rollo gives a very real often harsh explanation to inter gender dynamics and sexual evolution. I found it very much like the red pill in so much as what has been seen cannot be unseen. If I ever have a son I would give him this book on his 18th birthday because it is something I'd have loved to have read for the first time at that age when everything seemed so confusing. It certainly doesn't have all the answers and there are a few things that I disagree with but it's certainly an excellent compass for navigating the often stormy seas of men and women's relationships.

Most of the content of his book can be found of his blog in the 'Best of Year One' section for the cheapskates among you.
