I don't think I'd have a problem escalating once arriving at the 2nd bar, with touching, asking a couple of sexually charged questions and possibly making the move to makeout. BUT What I'm more interested in is popping the question 'do you want come back to mine?'. My thought is that some people on this forum will be like; 'don't even ask the question!', so if there are any tips, I'd appreciate the advice.

I try to meet very close to home and have some drinks in the fridge and can always say youve got x drink in your fridge, no point in paying for it..

It's usually after I move for food though, if you don't pull first date try to close the second date for at yours or thiers WHILE YOUR WITH THEM on th first date..

Just to outline the most important bit here, you do not ask her if she wants to go back. You're telling her and taking the lead.

With regards to the first date I always have it set over at least two locations. The first location you can have a drink and both relax, then while walking to the next, you can hold hands and spontaneously stop her in the street. Push her back against the wall firmly, not forceful and just make out with her.

If you get any silences, remember they're only awkward if you make it so. Don't rush to fill them by saying something stupid, let her do it. You just sit there and stay cool.

Or if it's going well at venue No.1 wait till she goes to the loo, then on her way back stand up to let her sit down and kiss her then.

Never leave it to the end of the date, and never be thinking in your head 'ok, so how do I turn this around, how do I get her back to mine...' etc.

If it feels right at the time, just do it.

I was thinking it might have been common place to get laid on the first date; but if not the "I'm sending you home." line is really good. Shows a bit of control.

On a night out, you can take them back to yours or theirs fairly easily. As soon as you're going on a date though, they tend to have their own standards and play by their little rules. Or as Phil pointed out, think they can have sex on a string and dangle it in front of you.

The only time's I've been laid on a first date are when they've asked me back, or asked what we're doing. Ultimately, it's her decision.
