here's a field report for last night. it will be long but bare with me theres a lot in here that i think we all can learn from. including myself (but i will try to make it brief).

Venue 1: Old st

pretty dam dry, and i mean the whole strip. Not nearly enough sets for us to be excited about. so we decide to head down to Alagate to a bar called Mary Janes.


Venue 2: Mary Janes

on the way to here i could feel my AA kicking in and it was frustrating me before i even saw any sets. i needed to get over this ASAP! To combat this i was looking for any set on the way to the bar to open and just get my verbal shit going.

ME: hey guys do you know where Algate station is from here?
Girl 1: ermm ahhh i think its that way, wait my friend know

she was on the phone at the time and these girls were waiting to cross the road.

Girl 2:[ gave me directions]
ME: oh your accent, where is it from...
Girl 2: im Italian!
Me: oh i only know one word in Italian
Girl 2: oh quickly tell me! [the green man light came on so the rushed off to cross]
ME: Merdha!
Girl 2: *Laugh*

i fucking got AMOG'd by the green man! basterd! lol

at the venue, now this was much better! lots more sets. I'm still not content with my previouse attempt to squash my AA. it gets me in a shitty mood. i go to the toilets to get my head together, my wing tells me he's not liking this lol. i head to the bar and get me a red bull. i see a two set eating nacho's, fuck it im opening them!

Me: hey can i ask you a question, who lies more girls or guys? (i know, i know! canned material is good to get over AA, so whatever!)

2 Set: guys!

i run the rest of the routine..with a DHV spike about me working with an artist. the fact that i didnt say too much about it creates curiosity.

Me: so what do you girls do,
2 Set: i cant remeber tbh one just changed jobs...you said you were working with at artist?
Me: yeah im a music producer...

girls love the whole music/creativity thing!.. defo DHV!

Me: oh sounds interesting you girls look like a lot of fun, what d'you do to have fun?

2 Set: go out to bars.

i fucking hate this kind of answer, its puts me right off the girls! anyway i digress!

Me: i hope i wasnt interupteing your conversation,
2set: we were just talking about guys actually... 3sums.

the look on her face wasnt genuine, bitch was testing me!

Me: oh yeah do oyu have bi tendencies?
girl1: no, it was two guys actually
Me: *weird look on face*... interesting
Girl2: awww are you feeling a little out of your league?
Me: (in my head im saying "you fucking little cunt!) but i actually say haha... babe i work in the music industry, i've seen a lot worse then a 3sum!
Girl2: speachless...

small talk, then i eject cause to be honest they were boring!

go back upstair to meet my wings and we're talking about hot chicks 8/9/10's. then we see a 9. one of my wings is is getting AA big time. I'm egging him on to open her cause dayuum! she was hot! sexy, sophistated look mmm!...he's getting AA, i challenge him "if you don't open her i will!" he calls me on it!. So i follwoing through just to help him get over his AA so the next time he see's a 9 or a 10 he will feel that Alpha in him to get there before me!... i open her!


i walk past her and act as though i just noticed her.

Me: oh! excuse me, you have a really interesting look about you, where are you from?
HB9/10: oh my mum's japanese and my dad is white

(JIZZ IN MY PANTS!!! ok not really..)

Me: *intregued look* what do you do?
HB9/10: im a broker!
Me: nice! (i find common ground)..."but i dont do that anymore"
HB9/10: what do you do now?
ME: im a producer..
HB9/10: *geniuine interested look*
ME: so what do you do to have fun..
HB9/10: ima socialite..
ME: (in my head im thinking: "yeah alright luv")...oh cool we'll i go out with my artist all the time, we shoud swap number and the next time im out i'll let you know..
HB9/10: ermm ahh my boyfriend wouldnt like that..
Me: look i dont wanna know about your problmes?!
HB9/10: laughes..clearly
Me: look we dont have to tell him. but its cool no worries, im gonna get back to my friends now but it was nice meeting you.

Eject..not happy but hey ho!

we all leave and look for another venue. its not easy for some reason its really really dry everywhere 2night. so we walk around some more and stumble upon this really cool place. my wigns want to leave but i see this HB9 (for me this time)... i go direct...

Me: hey, i just noticed you from over there and i had to come up and speak to you, i think your really cute.
HB9: oh thank you
ME: where are you from?
HB9: im from Boston..
ME: *show intrested look on face*.. oh cool are you studying here?
HB9: yeah im studying marketing..

general conversation about interests. she loves to travel...we've both been to Morocco so i talk about that for a bit, then her friend coems and taker her away from me. in hindsight i could have done something to introduce her friend into the conversation but i just let her speak to the HB9! (dick!)... she says she has to go..

Me: hey cool im gonna be leaving in a bit but before i go i'll come let you knw..
HB9: ok cool

im pissed (internally). Give it about 15 mins and go up to her. She's sitting with all her friends at a table. i didnt give a toss!

Me: hey im gonna be leaving now but im out tomorrow if you wana come along?
HB9: im not out tomorrow.
Me: ok cool, well take my number and let me know the next time your out...

she takes my number and i get her to miss call me! lol...

Me: cool the next time im out i'll drop you a message ...

that was a bit sly but it worked..

i text her about 10 mins later..


ME: OMG i've found the best place ever! why arent you here?! [my name]..

decided to go for this approach as i didnt want to write it as though it came froma stranger... No reply. shall i go for a second text? what are your thoughts guys!?!?!?!

I find stuff like this 'interesting'

How about you turn your sarges on its head and just plan to go out with a couple of wings-- have a giggle with each other and dont think about opening chicks and just open them as and when the situation arises?

It just seems like a massive forced situation you are putting yourself into, which i think will then come across to people you are chatting to.
then again maybe if you do it all enoguh it wont seem forced in future.

On the first 2-set, did you approach them alone? or with wings? and did your wings join you?

Same for the HB9/10?

I thought this sounded a little needy, but then again I can't visualise your tone of voice and body language.. so it might have been cool.

For the finale, I wouldn't send her a second text. Not that theres anything wrong with that, it's just she didn't seem overly interested, seeing as her friend just dragged her away.. Bitch!

yeah i agree, its all about having fun but for some reason i was really focused on closing more then anything last night! the 2set after coming back from the toilets i had no intention to close i just wanted to get into that "talking to strangers thing" plus it was more to get me into that chatty state. ...any advice on this HB9?

You could just phone her on a weekday evening, and if she doesn't answer, leave a voicemail "Hey I'm in town on X day why don't you meet for a drink?".

Or wait for a text back, and go open some more HB9s and HB10s and maybe one day she will see you out with these hotties and be uber jealous.

Needy as fuck IMO -- how about just give her your phone and saying type in your number, we`ll sort somthing.

I think she`ll probably flake on you.

i agree big time! The thing i think happend here was i was in a state where someone was dragging this girl away from me and i was trying to be cool about it... what actaully happend was quite the opposite!... dam she had a fine back off let me tell you man!.... sheeesh! lol.
