TinyShark is brilliant.

I'll add another to this list. Logmein. Though it is a paid app I think?

It lets you connect to and use my PC while I'm out and about.

I'm all about actual practical apps. Tweetdeck is damn useful because it lets you have most of your social networks on one app which is dead useful in terms of saving battery usage. I had to start looking for something else because that official facebook app is fucking AWFUL for the battery, it fucking drinks it.

Google Navigation - Free sat nav.

Little photo - Allows you to modify photos to a great extent; far superior to the standard effects.

Glympse - Lets you send your location by email or sms to someone. It continually updates it within a pre-defined time period too.

Applanet - Piracy has a long reach.

I tried using google navigation in Leeds last week to find a pub the other side of Leeds.. the app tried fucking sending me the wrong way down one way streets, and also down bus lanes and shit... WANK app when I was lost.. I cancelled the navigation part, loaded up standard google maps and found it myself

Dood's Music Player - An unofficial Grooveshark app. I used to use TinyShark, then worked out a way of getting free official Grooveshark, but when Dood's came out it blew them both out of the water. Also, the developer is totally sound and even asked for suggestions for features in future updates. I gave him a fairly hefty list and he is building them all in now, he has already delivered some of the changes too. Among other awesomeness, it pre-buffers the next track so if you pass through an area of weak signal the music won't stop for the remainder of the current track and the whole of the next and scrobbling to Last FM is coming soon.

Curious, what data plan do you have? This must seriously eat away at it? I downloaded couple youtube vids on my birthday bash in the hotel room and it killed my data, I used 500mb this month

EQualiser - Graphic equaliser that takes over your audio from any player, including web-players like Dood's or youtube. Sometimes a nigga just needs more bass, yo. Requires android 2.3.

I will try this!

Tesco - Shop online. Fuck, yeah.

UStream - Broadcast live high quality video steamed to the internet. Takes about 20 seconds to set up. Tech. is cool.

SMS Reader - Reads me my texts and announces the name of any caller. Leave your phone in your pocket while you walk along listening to music.

3 Awesome Productivity Tools:

Evernote - Clip notes that are instantly available on all your devices. Allows pdf, audio notes and photos. Smart organisation and rich text options. You can even search text within photos. Great UI. Web-clippers are available for all internet browsers, an Outlook clipper and a downloadable version for your desktop too. It has increased my productivity, business and personal, and is even more helpful when used in conjunction with ...

I use Evernote, but only for writing short notes, I don't use half of the features available.. Maybe I should.. I like to use OneNote at work and home for note taking

Astrid Tasks - Awesome dedicated task manager. I share my Evernotes with Astrid and also sync. it with my Google and Outlook calendars. Thus bringing all my tasks and calendar items into one place.

Locale - Enables you to change the settings on your phone by location. E.g. my phone automatically goes into silent when I get to work and back when I leave. That is pretty awesome on its own, I know that isn't my phone ringing in a meeting. What is really cool about this app. is the number if other apps that have created a Locale add-on. Not least Astrid Tasks. So I can now receive location aware reminders for my Evernotes, tasks and all calendar items. E.g. I need a screwdriver from Maplins, my phone alerts me the next time I am nearby.

Curious, does this drain the battery much with the use of location services? By the way, I tried using only Wifi to detect my location, and it literally found where I was within about 20 feet. Pretty awesome I think to say it only used my home internet and 3g signal (I think)

(Locale cost about £5; which you may be able to charge back to your employer, if their nice like mine. Evernote and Astrid are both free.)

Games

Stupid Zombies - Similar to Angry Birds but not for gays. You get to play the character of Ash from Evil Dead too, unofficially, of course, but it is so obviously supposed to be him.

Will try this now..

Marvin - ZX Spectrum emulator, tons of free ROMs available. My first computer was the 48k +.

Worms - I fucking love Worms, it is one of my favourite games ever. Solid android version. Costs about £1.

Zombie Booth - Take a pic. of someone and it zombifies them and animates their zombified corpse quite spectacularly. I love zombies. They are my favourite undead.

Peace,

kowalski
Some apps I would recommend (Android):
FML:
This app - Fuck My Life - is very funny to read, and you can also contribute, and vote on whether they deserved it or if their life sucks

Reddit is fun:
An Android app to check Reddit, which I am now addicted to

Facebook Messenger - obvious, works really well in the background without draining battery (I look forward to the day Facebook go bankrupt and Google+ is at the forefront

Titanium Backup - if you have a rooted android, you can delete all the bloatware that your provider or phone maker puts on.. also can backup your entire phones apps to SD card (then you can transfer to PC) and will even backup to Dropbox over the net!

ConvertPad - to convert everything like currencies, lengths etc, I am crap at this without this app

Engadget - to read the Engadget news

Google+ - obvious

Skype - my phone now supports front camera video chat with Skype over wifi

YourOrange - to check data balance

TuneIn Radio - listen to most radio stations in the UK - really good app

Sudoku Free - even lets me use the gamepad on my Xperia Play, good for passing time

FileExpert - to browse SD card files, (and system files if rooted - be careful) and can also set up FTP server to connect from PC wireless, works awesome for transferring files rather than mounting SD card blah blah

I hate you. Simply because you have unlimited data. I want to cry now. Orange give me a measly 500mb, though when I get full signal it is around 2mb/sec which is cool enough..

I'm not actually sure how much extra data costs me, I haven't checked.

I am doubtful that Sony Ericsson would give me a new free battery.. not sure who to contact, maybe I will just buy an aftermarket on ebay.. (or two)
