I say No TV whatsoever, other than DVDs if youve got a bird round
All I do is watch stuff I need/want to watch. I don't have a tv any more, just a laptop with downloads and dvds. TV is crap, and the news channels are depressing, unless of course they're singing the praises of the ConDems.

1) to get back to a more natural/traditional state of mind, without the influence of the tide of constant random suggestion from external sources.
2) to develop the habit if generating my own more healthy reality from within, which will mean different things to different people.
Obviously we live in society and can’t avoid it when out and about, just don’t bring it into your home or mobile devices and such intentionally.
For me, I’m part way there already as I don’t watch much TV or follow the “news”, if you can call it that. I rarely read magazines or papers…etc. So I will just axe movies and music with lyrics (both of which I consume a lot of), both being rife with suggestion and passive participation in certain constructs.
Nature documentaries allowed, classical music allowed, all self development material of any type allowed weather on internet (e.g. this forum), DVD’s, reading or whatever.
That’s my take on it.

I also stopped picking up a copy of The Metro when getting on the bus before Christmas. No need to polute my mind with shrouded Daily Mail views.
I guess the big question would be, apart from the 20th century media, can we all avoid news websites being thrown at us. I get the BBC headlines fed to our work homepage. Kind of hard to avoid at times.
