Default How do you guys cope with the weather? - 18-11-2009, 08:00 AM

Hey

Each year since three years ago when I came to here I'm finding myself feeling low - it's constantly raining, you don't get too much sun anymore, especially when you work 9-5 and the best you can get is a little bit of sun light on your lunch break provided the sun's not behind clouds.

I guess it's not only Manchester, although people tell me this city beats every other in terms of the rainfall.

Any advice? I've been considering sunbeds once in a while as a substitution for the sun, but what about you? After all, it's like 5 months of shitty weather and it feels like a waste to just wait for the spring.

peace out

I do a few things as it gets me down too.

I leave the country as often as possible.

I use a health suite that has a sauna more in winter.

I do day trips on the weekend to the countryside so I am outside in the fresh day air.

And I work hard like a mofo so I stay busy and make some $$$.

Its simple, be cool.

Pah! The sun's overrated anyway you can't do anything because it gets too hot

Totally agree - the only way through it is to do loads of exercise to pump up the endorphins! Indoor climbing is a great way to get a bit of an adrenaline rush in the evenings and most walls are full of girls in tight clothes

Well, that's part of the problem - it stretches on my work as well. I've got this project of mine going which I feel kicks ass but it's staled now because of low energy in me.

I wouldn't recommend a sunbed given the potential health risks associated with it. (...) harmfull UV rays.

Take a supplement or eat foods containing vitamin D.
Sure too much UV isn't healthy but that'd be a way to get your own vitamin D? And yeah, today I started telling myself I'm feeling great regardless of weather conditions. Seems to sort of work.

And that sounds really interesting Blinky! But some kit is necessary, isn't it? PM me how to not overspend on that.
