Default Am I weird??? - 05-11-2011, 10:13 PM

I've just turned thirty...

Had a bit of a look around and reaffirmed my view that I've not done the things that I should've been doing in my twenties... Lads holidays, regular nights out etc.
One of the main reasons was that for the past five years I've been working full time and training as a Commercial Pilot part-time. Prior to this I was doing an Engineering degree. Anyway, long story short - I don't feel like I've actually enjoyed my life.
The other major factor is that my mates are of the 'if-it-has-a-pulse-date-it-till-she-dumps-you' type... So... as soon as some random fat bird pays them a bit of attention they ditch everyone and don't emerge until they get dumped, usually six months... in some cases it's been ten years...

Anyhow, my view is that you should only accept the best. I've had stunners and I don't see why I should accept THIRD best...

I want the best out of life in every area and I'm willing to work for it. Looking to myself first for areas of improvement...

In a word guys; I'm finding it hard relating to my so called mates and how they will try and 'settle down' with any old 'hippo-croc-pig'.

These guys also think being single is a disease...

Also, am I the only person who thinks that you should aim for the best you can?

Anyone else had similar experiences?

Confused,

Giggidity.

Although I'm only 21, I will throw in my two cents..

It's not too late to start enjoying your life.

But think to yourself - Why do you want to go on lads holidays, regular nights out etc? Is this because your friends all did this and you feel you missed something?

You are right in only going for stunners and not settling for less, so it seems the pickup side of your life is doing okay?

You can always make new friends/acquaintances in life.

Also think, your friends may have been going out, drinking their money up the walls every weekend, but you now have a degree and the commercial pilot... I'm not saying compare yourself to them or anybody else, because you should do what makes YOU happy. If your degree, your career, and the cash it brings with it makes you happy, then why do you feel as though you're missing something.

Maybe you're hitting the point where you want to settle down with someone?

I am of a similar nature, I haven't been on a "lads holiday" (though I've been with a big group of guys and girls), and I don't go out ALL THE TIME.. but it's cool, I enjoy other things in life..

Hope this helps some

Edit: Title "Am I weird", No you're not

Good for you man, you've got a degree and are training as a pilot. Many others are still working behind the counter at MacDonalds at your age you realise?

As for falling for fat pigs, I know this reality also with my friends. When horny, they settle far too easily and hastily. It's just the path of least resistance to go for the ugly birds, yes they're easier and they appreciate the attention, but you're only conning yourself out of potential hot girls if you consistently coast..

Best bet, make new friends who maintain similar standards and go party with them

I'm 25, do I regret not going to Uni? A little. Mainly for the lifestyle, social development, constant parties and exposure to hundreds of fit birds who are stuck in the same boat as you.

30 is not too old to be ballin' whatsoever, just dress well. Women age way worse.

The tragic thing is that most of these guys are probably envious of what you have too.

I have experienced the same thing. I know its a cliche but none of these things automatically make you happy, happiness comes from within. Don't follow any career or personal pursuit because you believe it will bring you happiness. You will be disappointed.

Thanks a lot for the feedback gentlemen!

It's appreciated!

As a result of recent events, I'm looking to broaden my circle of friends and contacts. I think it's distinctly possible that, as a few of the posters have said - I might be growing apart from my friends.
Furthermore, I cannot deny that these gentlemen have no standards with ladies and that trait doesn't just stop there in their lives...

I guess I should find some friends with similar values/standards.

Thanks, again!

By the way; anyone North West based??

Dude there's two sides to every coin. I'm 27 and I've been partying non-stop since I was 22. I've shagged loads of girls, gone on lots of cool holidays and taken every drug under the sun - but I have ZERO career prospects, huge debts and no real friends that I can rely on (basically because I've fucked too many girls people fancy). I'm actually jealous of the way you have it. At the end of the day you're only 30. Guys don't suddenly drop off in attractiveness when they hit 30 the way girls do. You can EASILY start doing all the things you want to do now, easily. You just need to find more friends that think the way you do, but then the PUA community is good for that.

Also, I completely agree with tony77, personality is under-rated in the pickup community, but at the end of the day you still have to talk to the girls you sleep with, you still have to spend time with them outside the bedroom and you still have to put up with their friends. Looks aren't everything.
