How did you start? why would you be classed better socially?

This is all great if you have some good friends or a fair amount of intelligence, even time and resources to do this yourself.

However if you are a little bit lost or don't have many friends, down in the dumps or affected by many other issues then PU can help. The problem for me is that it's sold as a magic bullet when its really a course of self development.

We all get there in the end - hell even Neil Strauss does at the end of the game where he realizes he was great without PU but he needed pick up to take him out of his shell and shake him up!

I'm not saying that PU doesn't have bullshit elements but it's a shake up that a lot of guys need to take them away from their world of xBox360s, being trapped in a rut or downtrodden by social conditioning.

I started out thinking that PU would give me a magic bullet. It took me a long time to realize I didn't need a magic bullet, just self-belief and confidence. Fundamentally I have not changed me core principals nor the way I dress. What I have changed is they way I project myself because I have firmed my foundation. I don't care about getting laid much but it happens more than enough because I don't care and I'm happy with myself.

However I bet there are very few people on here who can deny ever using routines. when you search back I've even found a routine from K. It's hard to be Johnny Top-Gun when you start out.

I don’t think there is really an argument here to be honest.

PUA, Self-Improvement, all that jazz – simultaneously the simplest AND the most complex thing in the world.

Think the huge variety of signals, emotions and meanings in a single gesture like kissing someone, and now consider how natural, easy and instinctive that act is (or should be)

Once you have it, you have it. Other’s need the links and strands and rationales to help them focus their thinking away from meaningless bullshit and start doing something a little more real.

Every occult activity, palm reading, tea-leaves, tarot – bullshit on one level, but on the other a (IMO unnecessary) set of systems and ideas that force your thinking in a certain direction.

Key thing is, once you have consistent access to your best self, scrap the framework, go deeper and for longer, apply it to everything and live a life at the limit of what you can know and experience. Until then, don’t stress (or bore the fuck out of, or try to rip-off) people, with slavish adherence to a system or set of distinct ideas about a tiny area of experience (such as PUA) - -- all it does is demonstrate a reliance on outside influence and power-sources that in most cases are a major contributor to why you need ‘an answer’ in the first place…. Don’t give your same weakness a new place to hide.
