u assert that my initial statement to kowalski re faith is naive. u say this without stating any reason and without showing any understanding of what i have said.

a mere flippant comment that holds no weight, quite simple really. my statement re ur blatant ignorance didnt need elaboration as its quite clear, but for claritys sake ive just highlighted it anyway.

If anything, in the circumstances it fell on u to elaborate why u thought my statement was naive.....just sloppy mate

please educate as to why u think my statement was naive

I thought your comment was naive because..

Having faith in things "higher than yourself" for the sake of curing alcoholism is just ignorant of the real facts of life. It is admitting you are too weak to handle it alone, and must rely on a self created God of some kind to help achieve this.

I have been ignorant, because I have not looked at the AA 12 step program, nor have I experienced alcohol addiction, and my post was short and sloppy but I was busy.

I think it is a bad idea to rely on a placebo effect to cure alcoholism, when there are deeper issues, psychologically.

I would like to add in this post that I do not believe in any God, or ghosts, or any form of supernatural.

alpha, firstly my comment was nothing to do with your opening post, but everything to do with K's comments re islam and faith

however in any case your comments do not show that having faith is naive..

how does this show that having faith is naive. alcoholism is a huge weakness. admitting weakness and summoning strength from an external source in times of need is no bad thing nor is it naive. some people get to a point where they are just to weak to begin the process of rehab alone. inspiration is inspirational.
